Well, after selling my 92 LT1, going to an 01 Z06, and then the LT4 Firehawk, I'm finally getting back in a C4. And to make it even better, it's a ZR-1!!!
Flying out tomorrow night to Vegas and picking up the car Saturday. Can't wait, it's gonna be a fun drive back to Dallas over the weekend!

Congratz! If that is Dallas' car, you got a good one at an unbelievable bargain!
Welcome to the club!
Lee provides a class "A" replica of the cam cover badges - better made than the originals, I think.

You bought a loved and cared for beauty. Enjoy!

Yeah, I'd rate it as the best bargain around on a ZR-1. Can't believe it too 2 years for him to sell it.
On the cam cover badges, do they just stick on?

Welcome to the Club. Join the Registry. When you get home change your oil, Tranny & rear end fuilds. Then wash it, wax it & drive your ZR1. She will not let you down.

Congrats...that's the best car yet from your list! ;)
You will have an awesome trip back, I suggest driving North Through Zion National park then back...you will never forget it and it's not that far out of your way. Just make sure you leave Vegas fairly early in the a.m.
It is the most beautiful drive I've ever had in my life!

Dittos on the black RTV. Not that you're going to need to, but that way if ever you need to remove them, they can easily be pried off with the tip of a small screwdriver. Just place a piece of cardboard or matchbook cover under screwdriver at the "fulcrum" point so as not to chip the paint on the valve cover as you pry against it.

How are the 4.10's? May I ask what MPH/ RPM's you are at when in 6th gear?

Well, finally made it home yesterday. I must say, I really love the ZR-1 on the open road. This thing is definitely at home on the open road at speed. I typically cruised at about 82MPH (turning just a little over 2K rpm), and averaging 25MPG (and that was with several sustained runs at 90-100, and blasts to higher). Also, I must say I actually like the valving on the 91 FX3 better than the FX3 my 92 had. There seems to be a much more noticeable difference between the settings (at least from what I can remember). The softest setting is a little floaty, but much more comfortable for long highway cruising or for rough roads. Sport tightens it up nicely and eliminates any "float" without being too jarring, and Performance should only be used on the track.
I am having to refine my driving style a little as the lack of low end (at least compared to my LT4 Firehawk) requires downshifting much more when wanting to get speed while cruising. Plus I keep having to remember that it revs to over 7K rpm!!
