Called a guy a few weeks back about buying some 90s.....already sold:cry:

Then he e-mailed me and said that he had another set in the basement, but they were off a European ZR-1.

Are there dates still on them? Proably 88-89 dates. Look like mine.

I'd be interested in them, maybe.

They are in transit......have not seen them...part numbers were ground off for some reason...wheels are straight.

What makes those different from the 90?

LGAFF

They are made for large center caps like normal 89 wheels.

If you look at the center section, that is different. The center cap hides the lug nuts on an '88-89 wheel.

They were also supposedly heavier than the 90 wheels.

Ended up paying $500 for these, no center cap....not sure on value.....any thoughts they are used with alittle rash on one wheel....all true and usable.

Thoughts? You stole them, told some egregious lie to the previous owner...

If I had a 90' these would be great "stealth" wheels with the appropriate center caps.

Cool stuff! Can you publish your "black book" of mysterious ZR-1 artifact curators? The rest of us want these deals too.

I think it has to do with the proper placement of a horseshoe :-D

Production dates on 17X11 wheels are 10-3-88 and 12-13-88, someone did remove the part numbers, wheel size, etc with a grinder for some reason.

Prob GM as they were a prototype. I remember the cross XXXing of early LT5 motor blocks as well . Also Lee I want a copy of that book. Why does it always appear you are able to single out the single golden nugget out of a bucket full of cacca filled by corn eaters? Go to Vegas....

Great find. Tell your wife you can never have enough wheels.

Lee just tell her your happy with the rims and dont have a urge to put rubber on all of them so you can rotate them on the cars.....

Guy I bought them from worked for GM, now retired. His role at GM was to take other makes of vehicles, dissassemble them, note engineering adavancement and report back to powers that be.....they would then sell the parts to recoupe expense.

Trust me pictures make them look 100% but they need to be refinished. Just not sure I want to refinish them yet. Still finding out their history.
