Folks,

I am thinking about replacing the brake pads on my 1990 Z. Rotors are in real good shape. Going to bleed the system too. It has already snowed 3 inches and the roads were salted so the car is in for the winter.

Not sure what the previous owner used but at about 53K it's about time. I don't want to wait until the middle of the season to lay the car up. I don't race the car and want to keep it close to stock. I have heard metallic and ceramic pads put a lot of wear on the rotors and I should look to use semi-metallic.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Thanks

Hawk HPS pads are a great street pad. Great initial bite and they also can tolerate heat well. They are a bit dusty, but not terrible.

Im running Hawks as well tend to hold up a little better than the stock pads but to be fair Im using baer eradispeeds on the front and rears and the pads tend to go a little faster ;)
