I've read in the past that O2 sensors are one of those things that when replacing, you should stick to Delco, is there truth to this? Are others running aftermarket brands of O2 sensor with no problems?

I changed my O2 sensors a few yrs back and used Bosch that I got at the local parts store. I don't think that they are giving me any trouble as far as reliability is concerned. When I scan my motor in closed loop @ idle all the readings are within the FSM specs. I have proly put about 20k miles on them since the swap.
:o just a fwiw. :o

Oh, another fwiw. The right side is a bit of a PIA to get to the connector plug. The method is to remove the brace the goes from the side frame rail ( the motor mount looks like it's attached to it, but it is not. ) forward to the cross member that holds the rack. I believe the bolts are 16mm (?) there are four. Once that brace is out of the way you can actually see the connector for the right O2 sensor and get to it.

Two 15mm bolts and two 13mm bolts. I just removed the braces to get the lower a-arm bolts out.

I just pulled that brace about 10 minutes ago, as I'm also removing the a-arms, new bushings, whee!!! The old ones are trashed, not that I'm surprised. What surprises me is the amount of mud, for lack of a better term, in all the nooks and crannies of the frame - probably from years of oil leaks that attracted every particle and pebble from the road. That oil leaking also trashed my motor mount heat wraps.
Thanks for the input re: O2 sensors.
