Would you get the regular model with the resonator or special order one with an x-pipe? I am leaning toward the x-pipe.

I have the x-pipe, it sounds really good without much drone. I drove to Dallas and back to Houston last week and the interior noise and resonance was a non-issue.

I hope FU sees this and posts up. I have B&B with the X-pipe. I also received the resonator which I ended up sending to Frank. I know he has tried both.

you might also ck to see if that new model with the zo6 type vacume operated flapper in one of the tips is out yet . dennis @ band b had contacted me about trying / buying the first system but i had by that time come up with my own set up that ended up as quiet as stk but made more power than anything else i had tried and didnt want to spend 1400 to see if they had a system that made more power and looks like a factory stk set up . you might want to have a good exhaust shop give you a price on a system it could save you 600 and end up with a awsome system that serves your needs .

I thought about just going to a custom exhaust shop...but I have settled on B&B...it is the catback I know I want, and I know what I am getting. No surprises, I hope. He cost is steep, but I have waited a long time to get it. tomorrow is my B-Day and I will be ordering it. I just read all this mumbo jumbo about a new resonator and that they also offer an x-pipe. I just need the pros and cons of each.

X-pipe......sounds a lot more aggressive then the resonator on my car! X-pipe ftw!!

Without question, I would order the system with X-pipe and that is based upon my experience with the B&B on my last car.
I started out with the Gen III system with resonator and was somewhat disappointed in that it was not as loud outside the car as I expected yet still produced quite a bit of resonance in the cabin. B&B Had told me the new resonator and mufflers pretty much resolved the resonance issue I had read about. Wrong.
I liked the exhaust note outside the car but it seemed surprisingly quiet from the rear of the car.
Now, when I ordered the X-pipe from B&B I also ordered SW headers and RT cats and installed them all at the same time, so my experience was not just as simple as swapping the resonator for the X-pipe. But the combination gave me exactly what I had hoped for. Louder, much more aggressive outside and at the same time it greatly reduced the resonance inside.
I really loved how that car sounded and I'm just waiting things out with my new car to see if I'm pleased with the Corsa after headers are installed.
I'm hopeful as the system on this car is basically brand new. If I find I don't like it and choose B&B again - it will be with the X-pipe FOR SURE.

When you ordered your headers were they they set the sell that bolts to the factory location? Did they end up bolting right up to the B&B catback?

Yes, they were the headers configured for use of the factory connections (ZR1FACTCAT) and yes, the B&B bolted right up to the cats.
Hell it's your birthday - take advantage of the club's discount and get the headers too!:dancing
