Everyone is invited to another Westminster Maintenance Day at my garage. No experience necessary!

We have some special projects planned, including:

Admiral Blue 1994 ZR-1: lightweight flywheel, new clutch, replacement transmission.

Black 1995 ZR-1: Install C6Z06 rear brake conversion - We may have a two-team, left vs right throw-down competition, stand by for more info.

Quasar Blue 1993 ZR-1: Plenum Pull, replace AC Compressor, coils and plug wires.

AND

Any work that anyone else needs done.

The WMD location is:

The Garage behind
195 W Main St
Westminster MD 21157

Come on over and hang out. We always have a good time.

If you need directions or other info, post here or give me a call (or ask the Dominoes Pizza guy, he knows where we are).

On Saturday evening before the Mystic, CT show, I replaced the rear tie rod on Ricky's ZR-1. My hands were cleaner when I finnished the job than when I started.

"No heat or A/C" Hey, at warp speed, you don't need Heat and A/C.

Sorry that you can't make it. I have the same problem on my '93. The A/C clutch fuse blows and it turns off all heat & A/C functions.

I will let you know how it turns out.

Sorry guys, I won't be able to make it. It is Anthony's 6th birthday on Nov. 4th but since we will be in Disney we have to celebrate it on Sunday. I waited to the last possible moment to post because I wanted to see if we could have had the party on Sat. That option didn't workout with to many family members.
Hope we can maybe get a date in the near future. This is really going to be a great upgrade mod for our cars. The adapters I obtained are top quality and converts our emergency brake to a C5/C6 hub design(all GM hardware).
I also have a Ricky Custom peice I just completed that I wanted to add/install to the WMD. I'll post some pics on the General Info on that one. No, its not the new hood! that will be in the spring :)

WMD was a great success. We had a nice group of people including guys from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.

The transmission and Fidanza flywheel install went well. The only glitch was that we could not install the drive shaft with the C-beam bolted in. We had to disconnect the the C-beam at the transmission and move it out of the way to get the drive shaft to clear the edge of the tunnel framing. We haven't had that problem in the past.

We had plenty of supervision:

New flywheel installed:

Initial report from David is "Thumbs Up" for the flywheel , new transmission and shifter.

I replaced the plug wires and coils on my '93. No problems. I did not replace the A/C compressor that was blowing the 10 amp A/C Clutch fuse. The problem turned out to be a pinched wire going to the clutch. Check out the Techinal Section for some pictures.

Scott stopped by with his Z06:

Don't you guys think David has some explaining to do as to why the DM flywheel that came out was in such good shape after all the 'spirited" driving miles he has put on it?

Hey just got a txt from Dave J. He's stuck on 95S, his transmission fell out of his car and is lying in the middle of the left lane about a half mile back from where he's pulled over.:icon_scra
Maybe Darren can get some of Baltimores bravest to go rescue him.:notworthy
Looks like another great day for the WAZOO crew, wish I could have made it. I'll catch you guys on the next one.
Looks like Dave has become the Mod King of the SE section.
Why didn't any of my Z brothers take off those heat sheilds? HE doesn't need them with that slick new tranny:dancing

Can't wait Dave.

Now for the big question....What was the official removal/installation time? We should have a world record time with this being the 6th or 7th transmission for WAZOO!!

Ouch... Tom, very true my hands didn't get dirty. I leave work like this to the experts.

I was a very quiet supervisor. ;)

C'mon Rich, You know everything on those AB cars is slower! I don't think we will ever top the 2 1/2 hour time we did on Jim's car last time.
