I have the motor for 90 #702, remainder of car was in Thunderbolt GA with 8upZR1.....aka Sven Patrick Moeller, he has dropped off the face of the earth. Wondering if anyone can locate it, or know his whereabouts....would love to bring the car back together.

Jeff:

It's an fascinating story, popped up back in 2006.
It starts here:

I really feel for the guy, by all accounts he spent months and months trying to get his LT5 running again after replacing a head gasket and doing some porting work on the top end.
At some point he was talking about putting a SBC into the ZR1 somehow Lee wound up with the motor.

yeah I knew 8upZR1 had 702, he finially sold a bunch of stuff on eBay and his plan was a BBC IIRC.. but was not sure if 8upzr1 still had what was left of the car

Last I had spoken to him he still had trans in car...everything else was still there...... Engine is missing

DIS
Coil pack/mounts
I think ECM is gone
Coolant tubes
Air Horn
and probably a few more.

If car is reasonably intact and price is reasonable I would be interested in it

-=Jeff=-

What would be the point other than bringing a ZR back together with it's original motor. Is that a priority for you.

If price is right could be profitable(long run).....yes I think it would be good to keep the car together, If I recall its a 40K mile car

Well after searching for the chassis, for the motor I bought, I finally located it...called the owner every month to try to convince him to sell, and then yes I get the call....he wants to sell it....have some photos sent over....and a few hours later he has it on the CF and sells it to someone.

Can't win for losing sometimes.........but I needed it like a hole in the head....going to look at building a garage out in the burbs to put my toys.

Well now that it doesn't matter, get some bucks for the 702 from the guy with the matching chassis and buy my 92 motor for you 90.

I unwittingly bought the chassis. I was real excited until I found out what occured. Still excited because it was a real good deal for me. I can paint it and find an engine. It's really just "right up my alley", so to speak.

Lee and I spoke about it shortly after the sale. Heck, Lee still may own it before it's all over with. Who knows?

I feel really bad that I bought it. I think Lee even told me the story about his engine some time ago.

What's a complusive Corvette guy to do?

Lee, even though I really want a driver, if you really want it, I'll give it up. You chased it. I just got lucky .....for once.

There are no hard feelings whatsoever, Patrick actually e-mailed me and told me he did not expect it to sell it so soon, offered to make it right....I have enough on my plate with the motors. Will probably start saving my pennies for a Callaway Car. Really would like to buy Paul's 415 at the Indy auction, but the auction system is just kind of odd, they want a 10% deposit on your max bid, etc..

As Jeff pointed out I have had my fair share of breaks with wheels, buying this motor, etc.

Can't win them all

Sounds to me like you did win Lee. Less work, and more money to apply towards what you really want!

Lee, once you've got tired of the motor and /or car, just let me know. Maybe I'll buy the whole car or just the motor or?????

If I ever decide to sell the chassis, I'll call you first.

Holy chit,

Now that you mention it, my wife ordered a new Coach purse and they accidently sent her 2...and told her to keep it....

SOB she did take it!

Believe me, I've always been the guy tripping over the horseshoe and stubbing my toe.

I just hope that everyone won't hold me accountable for the huge price drop in ZR1 values now. It seems anytime I get something, values tend to drop. :(

I hope she got a leather one. hahaha

I've bought my wife a few of those things. I always buy the leather ones. I tell her "If I'm paying that much for a purse, something has to die in the process". More porterhouse for everyone...
