Wow, FU2.
Incredible looking ZR1.
I love the Ram Air Mod -- that mod was not easy.
I would love to own a white ZR1 like that.
Very tasteful mods. This ZR1 makes the owner look like a Gentleman but with a wild side. ;)

You can find color production numbers here:

Also, if you join the registry, they have extremely detailed production information available.

There is. But you get a T-shirt, and name badge (it's magnetic so it won't leave holes in your shirt), and access to 5 years worth of newsletters. Plus access to the aforementioned build information down to the specific VINs that meet your option combo criteria.
If you find a specific car (or more) that meets your criteria, chances are quite good that someone in the registry knows the car or a previous owner of it.

First and foremost, welcome to the forum. :handshak:
While there is a fee to join, it is well worth it for anyone seriously interested in ZR-1's, much less anyone who owns one.
There are several white ZR-1's listed on the Registry's website you should consider. While you can buy one from any source, the ones listed by members are typically well cared for.

If you want a KOTH then you have to pay a KING's Ransom.
Such is the price of the entry ticket.
Same thing for a Grand Sport or a 96 LT-4 they all command higher $$.
If you wanna PLAY then you gotta PAY

Was at Ron Westphal Chevy this morning and saw a 1991 White ZR1 with red interior - only 86 (eighty-six) miles on it. It has been dealer owned and is for sale... Somewhere in the neighborhood of $75,000. The service manager said that he has put half the miles on it pulling in and out of the building.

Hi.
Thank you for sharing the picture. The picture and "Hiro" name recalled my good days which I had almost forgotten.
If Hiro is Hiroshi Mitani, I remember him. I got acquaintance with him via one Japanese mailing list which was to discuss about American cars about 12 years ago. He was a very nice guy. When I met him, he told me about how Hiroshi blow Ferraris and Porsches away at the Tokyo Wan-gun highway with his ZR-1. They said that Hiroshi drove his ZR-1 crazy fast. I was deeply impressed with his story and his ZR-1.
If I recall correctly, Hiroshi's ZR-1 was maroon red, not black as seen in your post, so the ZR-1 may be another Hiro"s:confused:

GG you may be correct in the Hiro Z being a Dark Metallic Red.
If you look close at the cropped pic of the left corner it does hint of a red tint IMO.
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/HiroZR1LEFTCORNER.jpg
You can see the flash reflection in that corner that serves to really add a lot of light to that corner and resulting in the red hue/tint coming out.
This Hiro photo is in the shade and not really that much sunlight on the ZR-1.
Now here are some other ZR-1's that at night look to be black models.
First a Dark Red Metallic
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/ZR-1DARKMETALLICRED.jpg
For sale at this website >>> http://www.hnhcorvette.com/C4-Corvettes.htm
Now a Dark Rose Metallic
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/BlackRoseZR-1-2.jpg
Finally my buddy Pete's Polo Green ZR-1
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/zr-1pete1-1.jpg
All of these at night can look very much to be a black ZR-1. Even the 40th Ann. Editioon 93 ZR-1 looks to be Black at night
Here is a 40th next to my ZR-1

Now I will post my PHOTO magic thanks to Photoshop filtering to simulate evening photos
Now on this one we added brightness and less on contrast -- It almost looks brown rather than red but you can only do so much with the light adjustments.
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/HiroZR1-LEFT-CORNER.jpg
The Dark Red photo has so much bright sunlight we could not get it to go black with adjustments but we got close
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/ZR-1-DARK-METALLIC-RED.jpg
Now the Dark Rose did go dark very well with adjustment even with the bright sunlight.
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/Black-Rose-ZR-1.jpg
And the Polo Green on the side did well again with bright sunlight the rear deck still shows green.
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/zr-1-pete1.jpg
The 40th 93 still shows a hint of red - again the intense bright sunlight on the front
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p110/HAMMERHATE/theZs-2.jpg
But I think you get my point if any of these were a "shadow" photo with the sun not being direct on the car like the Hiro photo it would be easy to make them all go "dark" with the bright/contrast adjustments in Photoshop.
My conclusion is the Hiro ZR-1 may very well have been a Dark Red Metallic ZR-1 and the photo hides that fact because of the lack of direct sunlight and being a "shadow photo".

Thank you for your pictures. I think I get your point. The picture must be Hiroshi's. Unfortunately, I heard a rumor 4 or 5 years ago that Hiroshi wrecked his ZR-1 by an accident when he was driving it hard in one track.
I'm not sure if this is true or not since I had lost his phone# and address..
By the way, you seems to use Photoshop right. I don't know much about Photoshop:confused: All I can do with Photoshop is to resize pictures and to "save as.." somewhat name:)

91 ZR1 All motor, no nitrous and still has the 6speed!
This is a 10.57@134 pass which is the fastest naturally aspirated, untubbed, 6speed ZR1 ever caught on video. If the car was slowed down to low 11's the mph would be close to 140...Now that is making power!
