I can't seem to find this connector anywhere -- it's the driver's side front 3-wire connector on the ignition module. The internal connector shape is the same as the other front 3-wire connector, but the clip is different. I can only find this one:

Anyone know that website that lists the connectors by picture? I used to have it bookmarked...

I don't know for sure if these guys have the connector you are looking for but give them a try:

Good Luck,

Not the exact site, but close enough - Thanks!!

BTW, I think the connector cross-references to a power window connector, PT 114. Will confirm once I receive it to see if it matches up.

I'd be interested in knowing that. The retainer clip on my broke so its in there but not locked.

Yep, same problem here - I've replaced almost every electrical connector under and around the plenum already -- everything is so brittle after being exposed to all that heat for nearly 190k miles and 20 years.

Update: Received the PT114 connector today. The clip does not appear to be the correct one - while the connector body will probably fit in the module, I don't think the retaining clip will be functional. The required clip is the flat type, which lies close to the body of the connector (like the clip on PT 148 or PT 782 - see http://www.acdelcotechconnect.com/pi/wiring-connectors/gm/pigtails/3-cavity/female/ for reference) Whereas PT 114 is raised too far away from the connector body to be of any use.

So I need to find a connector with the body of PT114 and the clip of PT 148. The search continues...

Kurt, thanks for the link - none of those is the correct one... I need the body of 12117339 with the clip of 12167116.

In this picture, it's the connector at the upper left. As you can see, it's the same physical connection as the lower left, which is PT 472, but the little retention nub is not large enough to accept PT 114.

Here's a rough pic of the connector in question - of the two black connectors with orange rubber seal, it's the one on the bottom of the picture.

Update: Still cannot find this connector. I may order PT779 and see if it will work with some modification, but it's definitely not the correct part out of the box.

The connector you need, are the wires blue orange & black?

VetteMed

Kurt, I dunno, I don't have it in front of me and the plenum is back on. The connector body looks like this:

But the clip is wrong - the clip should look something like this:

Which others do you need? I've replaced almost all of them and may recall some part numbers. Kurt's site also has most of them.

I have a few disassembled LT5 engine wire harnesses all pulled apart, so have everything you need.

I just uploaded it to the website with some good pictures. I decided not to cut it up as the way this harness is it's plug and play.

Thanks for the effort in getting that available, Kurt. A little too rich for my blood right now, so I'm going to scrounge around a little more to try to find just the connector (I've waited this long, what's a little more). I wish I could just find the ACDelco part number for it.

CLose, but no cigar. That's listed as a part that might work, but if you read my prior post(s) in this thread, you can see that the connector body is clearly a different shape.

Using a '94MY FSM the connector for C3 is a 12059612 (empty connector), using some GM SPO information the PT472 is considered a "service replacement" for that connector. "Service replacement" doesn't mean "exact match"! Wire gauges supplied maybe lighter/heavier but considered "suitable".

I don't use many "pig-tails" when I need specialty connectors I usually try to source the empty connector, use terminals, seals individually and assemble it OR using a release tool transfer the terminal from the original to the replacement.

NO CUT AND SPLICE!!

I keep a '94 FSM for the reference information to the connectors.

I buy from several sources that don't have the 12059612 but look here:

http://avilaelectronics.com/

I linked to the home page, click on the search tool and you'll see 13,000 +! I didn't try the phone number and I also likely won't. Someone can post back!

Here's the Delphi "tool" I use for most of my projects. Instead of linking you directly to the 12059612 here's a "start page" and you can enter the 12059612 in the search block. Here you'll find correct terminals for various wire gauges (note the metric values), seals, release tool information, 2d and 3d prints if available, material composition etc.

http://connectors.delphi.com/dcsgdmcs/homepage.aspx

Most FSM's beginning in MY'94/95 or later display "empty connector" information to facilitate harness repairs.

Do I use "pig tails"? Sure but not often.

I found some other 280 connectors that I believe would do but I don't have them in my hand so I didn't reference them!

FORGOT TO MENTION: Check the "line drawing" under prints etc!

I have ordered a bare connector earlier this morning, I was previously looking for a pigtail since I didn't have the crimping tools, but I figured this is a good excuse to make the investment. I know that PT472 will fit into the ignition module receptacle. However, the clip design does not appear to be able to fit over the retaining nub on the ignition module. I could be mistaken, perhaps it's able to be "rigged" to fit in a way that it wasn't designed for.

What did you order?

I'd be interested if someone could check a '95MY FSM for connector information for the ICM. The '94MY seems to have errors. Transitioning from bare connectors to "pig-tails" and also some of the replacing part #'s for empty connectors don't seem to agree or be able to be confirmed.

:o If one would like to make the investment for the tools to work on the connectors used on our cars what would those tools be called? Weather Pack tools?

TIA

Need a weather pack crimp tool, and a pick tool to release the lock mechanism of the pins in the connectors.

Here is a link to what I bought Tom. The three small tools for $7.49 allow you to remove the terminals from the housings. Then the terminals can be inserted in the replacement housing.

If you wan to make new pigtail, you would need to get a kit that has the terminals and a crimper.

Yes, correct. I (foolishly?) spent big bucks on the GM crimp tool, when in reality I probably do not need it at this time. I guess it'll be there waiting for me when I need it :)

Success! I found a connector that works. No pigtail appears to be available, but the connector is. I bought a few extras in case I screwed up, but since that was not an issue, I can pass them along to you guys.

$10 shipped for the connector. I can include 3 new pins and 2 new seals for $12 shipped. I have 3 connectors on hand if anyone is interested.
