Well Gang,
I just wanted to share this with you especially after all of your support.
Since the beginning there have been times when we've really tried to do things that meant something to someone. I thought it might be nice to share this from our troops over in Afghanistan where things have really been heating up. As most of you know, we made the Egelstad family our guests of honor at our recent Gathering and many of you have continued to support Eric and his guys who are manning a combat outpost in the ultimate HOT zone. Your thoughts, best wishes and most of all your boxes full of "stuff" have made these guys as happy and comfortable as can be, under their circumstances.
Just skip over the JVD tales, (I think he's just been drinking the water over there too long...:-))
Some of you woke up this morning and will say, "Oh it's just another Wednesday". Here's what I want each of you reading this to do.
Be thankful you woke up.
Be thankful that you are healthy, and if you're not, be thankful you have a chance to getting healthy.
Be thankful for this plain 'ol Wednesday and that you can go out, go to work, and enjoy peace in this beautiful country.
Be proud that many of you have (and will continue) to make a difference for even just a few of our men and women who may not enjoy the three luxuries I mentioned above.
You folks make me proud and so do they. My pleasure. Now go enjoy your Wednesday and make someone happy.

Subject: Me and My guys in a Magazine
Well as most of you know, I own a 2002 Z06 Corvette. Every summer, the corvette museum puts on various weekend get togethers for various corvette's. A famous corvette guy named Jim Van Dorn had a huge BBQ the night before one of these weekends and he had over 200 guests in his shop.
He had a variety of things going on that night and one thing he did was he put together a DVD with pictures of ZR-1 Corvettes and some pictures i sent him, playing a song from Lee Greenwood. They also had an auction and the money was to help buy my guys some goodies and drinks from back home. Since that night, i have meet through emails a bunch of new people and have received support like i could not of asked for. Jim has a good buddy, Hib Halverson who lives in California and he write's for a huge corvette magazine, Corvette Enthusiast. As you can see he wrote an outstanding article about my guys in this magazine, just know i have never meet Hib in person and i received multiple emails throughout the week from him and now this, another huge surprise from a Great American that even though he has never meet me, wants to do something for the guys and gals that put themselves in harm's way every day they are deployed.
Another friend of Jim Van Dorn is a lady who i have never met in person either, Maureen "Mo", she called the owner of Mid America who is in charge of sponsoring and putting on a huge corvette weekend in Effingham, Illinois, I'm talking like 15,000 thousand corvettes and a bunch of vendors, well she calls up Mike Yager, the President, and asked if they could do something special for us as well, and as you can see from the picture, they did this awesome Yellow Ribbon with Corvettes, could you imagine the work and time this went in to setting up, just to show us support?
I cannot tell you how grateful I am for people like this to show their support for my guys. It has been a long 9 months already, i wish i could say
12 months but we are not there yet. There has been numerous emails and care packages sent to us from people we don't even know and all i can say is Thank You, thank you from my guys, i know they really appreciate it.
