91 ZR-1 good or bad deal???

Hello,In the process of buying a 91 Zr-1,80k+ miles,1 repaint original color,original windshield replaced due to jacking without top installed?driver seat has a few scratches on bolsters,tire press. warning system problem at one wheel,rear shock trouble codes,engine intake plenum and valve covers repainted wrong color.Other than those things car is nice.
So, my question? What is this car worth?How much to fix problems?Would I lose money if I bought car for 15K? I have always wanted a ZR-1 and can afford this one.Will the miles hurt it's resale value much?Are these cars still depreciating?? Please help...I want this car but am a little leary about losing money a few years down the road.I realize these are great cars and were meant to be driven,but in todays economic times I feel these cars have the potential to skyrocket in price.

You're asking the same questions we all have and essentially no one knows all the answers. In the end, after you've listened to all the advice, your personal beliefs and market research will still be your own personal motivation.

Your concern about the miles, resale value, losing money and potential to skyrocket in price would seem to indicate you are more concerned with the economics than driving and working on the ZR-1. If that is the case, perhaps you should buy a very low mileage, original ZR-1.

If you want to work on it and drive it, then you should forego the notions of high mileage & losing money. Buying a "fixer-upper" can often be more expensive than buying one meticulously maintained. Re-paints, if not well done can cost thousands to repair. Tires are $1,000 a set.

I seriously doubt the ZR-1 you describe will be worth a lot of money anytime in the next 20 years. There are too many original, low mile cars that have been saved. Today, you can buy a virtually brand new ZR-1 for 15~20 thousand less than what it cost. Not much of an investment, especially when you consider there's been no driving enjoyment and the expense & hassle of storage, let alone the time value of money.
