I will get started, there is one mag I need to find it shows power adders on the ZR-1 starting with stock, then exhaust, open filter, exhaust, then and extrud hone intake.
If there are any other "essentials" let me know and I will track them down.
Copying the RPO guide should be worth it alone:)

Yes please What a wonderful treasure. You can't believe how many times I kicked myself for giving away ALL those magazines over the years starting in 1988 when I read the 1st one and later got personalized CA plates ZR!-LT5 for the '89 I planned to buy.
When it was delayed and I needed to replace my company car I then had an '89 Cad eldo with those plates. Drove every one nuts trying to figure out what it meant.
2 years later when lease expired I got my 1st ZR-1
Please let me know when, how and how much I need pay you
Thanks very much

I have been told to put it on a DVD as it has more capacity. Any thoughts?
DaveK
09-20-2010, 02:59 PM
DVDs have about 6+ times the capacity of a CD, depending on the exact type of DVD you use. The authoring process is the same though. If you are thinking of including any kind of video DVD is probably a must, if it's mainly article reprints a CD should cover it but it depends on how much material there is of course. From what you listed in your first post I'd say a CD would do.
Avoid cheap CDs/DVDs. Ones that use cyanine dye will often fail within a year or so. Good ones tend to have a golden colour when viewed from underneath (not the top which is often a fake gold layer to fool people). Mitsui Gold Archival DVD-Rs are probably about the best around.
For a menu you can just create a web page and put it on the disk as an index. This will open on pretty much any pc going.

Ok, its done I just need to get some disks to copy them onto...25+ magazines(many with mutliple articles) and over 300 pages of material. This also includes the Pizza Box Drivers manual that discusses not just the car, but racing set ups.
Depending on the CD price(material) I am looking at $20 and a few bucks shipping. These magazines cost me probably $250-300 to acquire(maybe more). I will proof the material tomorrow to make sure its in order.
Will be scanning both the STG Intro to LT-5 Guide and the LT-5 RPO guide(Thats the red supplemental) withing the next 2 weeks, these two combined will also be $20.00.

Ok, the CD is done and ready to be sent out....Cost is $22 Shipped, which includes the CD in a plastic Case. It is not labeled I figure leave that up to you....if you break it or lose it, replacements are cost of shipping(for as long as I have copies)
350 items on the disc
If you want a copy, send $22 to leegaffigan@yahoo.com via paypal, if you want to mail a check let me know. My thought is to mail out the first 5, have everyone review it for quality, before I send the balance of the copies. I went through all of the articles and rescanned some for better quality and verified the page. Its on Adobe.....adobe viewer is a free download if you don't have it.
I know some may think the price is high, but this is $300 worth of mags I bought, CDs cost money, cover cost money, probably 15-20hrs to scan these articles, I don't have a dedicated burner for CDs, so 10-15 minutes to burn every CD, then I have to drive 20 minutes to the post office and back to mail them, so really this is about sharing info....I work 80 miles from home so I get about 3 free hours per night on the weekdays. Not bitchin just trying to put into perspctive on how much work it takes to make these and share them....
Thanks,
Lee

Each Magazine has a file that is labeled with Mag Title, I guess I can add it today before shipping it out.....I am not a pro so I don't know a lot of tricks with this stuff. Quality of copies is good and clear.
Actually, I think it is ok as is, the files have a description in them for example MT 10 88 Heavy Breather is the label of the folder and that is the title, which means Motor Trend Oct 88 Article title is heavy breathers......another SCI 5 92 Snakeskinner........Sports Care Internation May 1992. Is that OK?
