She's running! And, oh what a wonderful sound!

:dancing:dancing:thumbsup:

It is a good start. Still got a way to go - data logging, temp cycling, and tuning with the newly ported heads, etc., but I'M PUMPED! She sounds wicked! It was just over a year ago the engine came out. It has been a LONG road, and at this point, I really needed to hear that sound again!

Keep your chin up Craig. It will be your turn next!!!:dancing:

Congrats Paul. Just don't do what one member did on this site. His car was down for a year as he was rebuilding it and he just got it all done and took it out for a drive. Gunned it and blew it up again. I havent seen him post since.

SW headers, no cats, no rez
3" SW "X" pipe
Magnaflow twin tube muffs

Are those Magnaflow twin tube muffs kind of like the SW 3" exhaust system with Chambered turbo mufflers?

How DO they sound? Why did you go with Magnaflow vice SW?

I bought the 3" MF exhaust, but I didn't like the several choke point - preferring the true 3" components - the muffs being the exception.

It really sounds good...outside the vehicle. It is a bit too loud for my taste tho. So, I'll dyno it and make some passes at the track, and then see about the noise.;)

Why did you go with Magnaflow vice SW?

The MF muffs were more a matter of expedience than plan: I had them already, so I'm using them for the time being.

Waxers vs. Warriors...I'm primarily the warrior type, so performance gets top billing - willing to put up with some racket, as long as it is not obnoxious!

So, I'm leaving that to my next project: check out what others find works and use their examples as a model, or blatantly copy it - which ever gets me there quicker/cheaper!:dancing

To that end, I'm impressed with Bob G's setup in particular - very nice sound around town, and the one time he blipped the throttle on his 427 LT5 (as I followed him at Bowling Green last spring) it really barked!

That looks like a work of art! I can only imagine how it sounds with a 415. :notworthy

By the way, is that a one off Jerry designed spare tire delete?

Thanks, Hans. Pete did all the technical work on the long block, n Bob G too. My part was limited to the general assembly of the top end, and the portingan of course.

We really miss our FBI brother - out there where Zs run all friggin year long!
