CCA Drag Racing and Fun Show - Crofton, MD

I am told that this Sunday - 09/12/2010 - there will be a Corvette Club of America Drag Racing & Fun Show at Capitol raceway in Crofton, MD.
Gates open at 11. Practice runs at noon. Bracket eliminations start at 3.

$40 drag racing - pre-registered.
$45 drag racing purchased on the day.

$20 for Fun Show.
$10 for spectator (children under 12 free).

Any interest? So far they are calling for possible shower.

Thinking of breaking in that new clutch Yun? :) Not sure yet, got to get back home tomorrow and see what is waiting for me.

I've never taken LORDVDR down the track. Sounds tempting and Crofton is only 45 minutes away. Yun, wanna meet there? How hard can it be? Any tips fellas?

After 4 days of rush hour commute to DC I think the clutch built up enough carbon glazing.
I might show up as long as it's not raining - yes, Darrin. A garage queen!
As for drag racing. I gave that up - too abusive.

Sounds like sprinkles in the morning and then later in the evening. As long as the track dries (hopefully they have a fan cart to help it dry), there should still be some good racing. Plus it'll keep the air cool which will help horsepower.

Unless there's a downpour in the morning, I'll be there!

Presumably this will happen again on the 26th... I'll have to see. Driving all the way out there, down I-495 and Rt-50 is not a particularly pleasurable experience. Then to get there and see a locked gate, I don't know I'll be up for it again so soon, but we'll see.

No one was there, and the gate was locked. I never saw anything posted online suggesting it was canceled, but I drove out there and it wasn't happening.

I still haven't seen anything to that effect, or stating it will happen on the 26th.

Not at all. I knew they'd have this because it's an annual thing. I saw the posts on CF about the specifics. Though I am a bit annoyed that they never updated the CF posts to say it was canceled. I checked it before I left, since the weather was iffy.

So this does in fact seem to be on for 9/26 now. Anyone interested? I am on the fence. I may end up taking the V instead if I can get another Z and V owner to bring his. I am curious what it will run, and it is more suitable for the I-495 run.
