looking for ideas

Anybody got any ideas on what I could do with my spare LT5 drive train?

Just don't want another ZR-1 or C4. I want to build/put it in another car, just don't know which car...maybe a kit...would like to use the 6 speed though.

Just really fishing for ideas.

Most of the "usual" transplants have already been done, C1's, C2's, C3's, 32 coupe, 55-57 Chevy, Tim Allens Impala SS, and a '60's Chevy pickup.

The LT5 was made to revv, it's not a torque monster like a big block so it belongs in a road car more so than a drag car.

If it's to be a road car, then it'll have to be something fairly aerodynamic so that you can take advantage of the LT5's speed potential.
A Mark IV Toyota Supra would be an interesting candidate, as would a Nissan 3000ZX.
A couple of others that come to mind would be a Datsun 240Z/260Z or a 1976 Toyota Corona Mark II hardtop.
You'd have to do a lot of fabrication, but what the heck, it's only money and time.

It would be hard to stuff it into anything smaller, i.e., Toyota MR2, Pontiac Fiero, Mazda Miata, Volkswagon Bug, Porshe 911/914, etc., as it would be difficult to get it anywhere near the 50/50 balance a road car needs so they likely wouldn't be nearly stable enough at high speeds or in the twisties.

Putting it into anything bigger would kind of defeat the purpose, although a '59 Caddy 'Vert with a LT5 would be a sharp car indeed.

Anything with a LT5 is going to be cool, so whatever you put it into is just fine by me.

I always loved the 300zx...but that thing is really small! don't know if I'm willing to go there. I know it's old hat, but what about a gen 1 camaro?

Did you know that you can buy every single part for that car aftermarket now?
