Ok my bolts must be welded on or something...they wont budge. I ahve done this job on a previous vette but not this one.

I have tried to break them loosed using a 1/2" craftsman socket wrench with a cheater bar and I think the guts on the inside of my wrench gave out or something. This bolt wont budge.

I am taking ideas.

Also, it isn't reverse threaded is it?

A little WD-40 did the trick for the caliper bolts, but now I cant get off the rotor.

Ideas?

if the rotor's are not going to be reused hit it with a BIG HAMMER.... got pop the rust free.

FYI on the rotor, though it's probably of no help now... If you drive the car in reverse and hit the brakes hard a few times, that helps break the rotor free.

I also put anti-seize on the hub when re-installing to help prevent that seizing up. But like Polo said, tapping it with a small sledge is probably the way to go.

Do you have an air hammer? If you hit the face of the rotor around the hub it works like a champ...obviously not the friction face...around the wheel studs.

Well after reading some other threads I learned you must beat the ever living crap out of it with a hammer after you have soaked it in wd-40...more effort than I am used to but the front brakes are done...rears tomorrow. I used a rubber mallet...fyi

Yep rubber mallet works well for both the front and rear rotors
