Keith Martin's Sports Car Market has chosen the 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 coupe of Jim Reilley as... the Chubb Collector Car Insurance Car of the Week

The C4 Corvette got a major performance boost in 1990 with the addition of the ZR-1 package, which consisted of special wider rear body panels and a Lotus-Chevrolet-designed and Mercury Marine-built all-aluminum dual-overhead-cam V8 known as the LT5. With 375 horsepower on tap, the ZR-1 offered super-car performance for its day, but the package was expensive at $27,016, which meant it cost nearly double that of a base-model Corvette.

Jim's ZR-1 is one of just 23 Competition Yellow 1990 models, and its' one of 3,049 ZR-1s built during the first year of production. And although it might look like a regular old C4, its four cams, 32 valves, and 16 fuel injectors will likely still surprise just about anything that pulls up next to it.
