Here's a link on Oil filter's from marc haibeck's site. I was looking for original Delco black filters to put on my car because I couldn't stand the new Delco blue color on the LT5. After reading this I quickly changed my mind about the OEM Delco black filter.

I currently run the Mobil 1 or Bosch. I like the Bosch because it is also black and with a little work to take off the labeling it looks just like the original Delco in black.

That is very interesting. I use the Mobil 1 filter. I bought a case on eBay last year. I don't mind the white.

I have used the Wix filter for 14 months. On a recommendation from a friend who has had several Corvettes for years claiming Wix to be very good. Check out the Wix website.

well I just invested in 3 original filters and think I might just take them to Ebay. Thanks for the heads up on Delco.. I nearly settled for Bosch but thought Delco couldn't let me down.

I've been running bosch with no problem. Not enough in my area using the mobil one, their all still white at 5 different stores. Might check wix out, didn't realize they had one for it.

FYI- I think the Wix and Napa filters are the same. All made by Wix. Might be easier to find the Napa brand.

The only ones I have found locally are Fram - anyone know anything about them?
Dave,
Here's a link taken from right here in the ZR-1 Net Registry web site, that will answer about any question a person might have about the various oil filters.

Thanks Jerry. Looking at that I best stay away from them.

I've been running Bosch and with redline oil and have hardly no chain tensioner rattle on startup and just did a oil analysis, it came back saying Insulubles were low showing excellent oil filtration. I haven't tested any other filters though for comparison.

It is curious that the NAPA Gold filters I use on all the other units in the family fleet are black but the one for "The Beast" is white. Go figure...!?!?!

Wix makes the LT-5 oil filters for NAPA. A real bargain. Half the price of K&N and Mobil one. A good filter as well.

I have used the Hasting LF391 since 1990 none ever made any better excellent at retaining oil in filter for startup. Others just copied them and made more expensive, when you go in for oil filters order for a Renualt 86 1.7 liter and you get the same filter for less 4-5 bucks a filter.....
