A very sad day :(

John Lingenfelter has passed away.

We have lost one of the greatest engine builders in our time. John's name was synonymous with performance. He was a legend in his own time.

He was always a big supporter of ZR-1's and the ZR-1 Net. If at all possible there was nothing that would stop him from making each years ZR-1 Gathering.

He will truly be missed.

Rest in peace my friend.

:-x I hate hearing crap like this... If its one thing im learning in life, its that you will bear the death of everyone you know, from friends to closest family,... everyone will die, and if they don't.... its because you did.

How tragic and depressing,... why so young? what happened?

While racing he hit a wall. He broke his neck, was in and out of a coma for quite sometime.

It's is sad.

John was a long time friend of my dad's. Ever since back in the early 80's when they were running against eachother in alcohol dragsters. My dad did a 92 Vette that John gave much helpful advice and pointers on. He was taking his new front drive Cavalier down the track and hit the wall. When he went i8n to have his back operated on, the anesthesia gave him an allergic reaction. Causing the stated as before slipping in and out of a coma. Very sad indeed. :tears: He will be missed by many.
