For years after I did the garage make-over I wanted to install heating/air conditioning and get a four post lift. Got the lift about year ago...but my real desire was to be able to stack the Vettes (had to keep one in a neighbors garage since the garage door created a height problem)...so this is my garage prior to the latest upgrades>>

About a week ago I finally had heating/AC installed (Mitsubishi Mr Slim Ductless Split Heat Pump)>>

Air handler portion is next to the window near ceiling... on a 94 deg/HIGH humidity day the system held garage temps at 74 deg... great system and is SER 21 to boot and thus qualifies for the 30% Federal Tax Credit.
Next was the garage door... was watching a Jay Leno video on the install of a Lift Master garage door opener and that was the key so I had a high lift door rail installed along with the Lift Master system (which I highly recommend) So here is the completed install (Lift Master is attached to the wall thus eliminates the center lift/rail drive system)

And now....drum roll>>>

Very nice indeed.
I think most of us would love a large garage, but are typically living in a home with a standard size one. I have the exact same problem with the opener and center lift/rail drive system. The one you have installed will probably encourage others to go that route provided it is not too costly.

Looking good.
that A/C is just like what we had in Iraq how much did it set you back?
and my garage will never ever be that clean.

My neighbor was actually sad to see the Vette's go...he liked having a nice car in his garage...but I like them together in my garage
Johnny...the MUZ-15NA (15,000 BTU) system installed was about $3650 but then take into account a 30% Fed tax credit... good deal

That's a pretty tight fit! How high is your ceiling? I'd love to do the same to my garage, but have been afraid I'd have to raise the ceiling

There are two critical height measurements.... floor to ceiling and floor to garage door (lowest point) when open. I my case the floor to ceiling is 104.5" which allows for 1.75" clearance for the C6 in the top position and 2.5" with the ZR-1 in the top position. The lower position (meaning which Vette is on the floor with the lift above it) there is 1.5" to 2" clearance. To me it makes no diff if it is an inch or a foot...the clearance is there and it works. If you would like to pursue more I can provide more detailed measurement requirements etc. Believe me I measured and remeasured and did again just to make sure

Next thing is a nicer tool box although I have to say yours does get the job done...and you NEED a computer out there.
Very nice job though...now go get nasty...get a project...you could build a really bad *** car that you could be proud of in there. If you have a wife, that will really piss her off though if she loses her parking spot (and you) to a project car.

Very nice set up.
What did you use on your floors? Any problem with hot tire pick-up???
Thanks, John
