A buddy of mine brought over his "RedHeaded Step Child".
My garage has never looked better.

Johnny:
It's a real Hemi 'Cuda, although not the original motor.
The original Hemi was long gone.
The Hemi in it now is a 540ci with aluminum heads backed by a Richmond 6 speed.
It's not even remotely civilized, downright scary and a boatload of fun.
Traction is huge issue all the way up to and including 4th gear.

Sounds like a blast! How does a car like that get on the road in California though with all the emissions testing stories coming from California?

Simple.
The DMV & the smog nazis don't give a shiznitz about cars older than 1975.
Do anything you want with 'em.
Driving a car like that is actually kind of scary and exciting at the same time.
You have to be very careful with the application of the go pedal.
It has so much torque that it's nearly impossible to leave a stop light without chirping the tires.
Simply mashing the go pedal to the floor in 1st, 2nd, 3rd & sometimes 4th causes wheel spin.
I can't imagine what it must have been like back in 1970 when you could drive a car like this off of the showroom floor on polyglass tires.
Granted, this engine has considerably more power than the original 426, but even so, it's no wonder that they're the holy grail of muscle cars.

That is officially one hell of a toy barn. You even have good stuff hanging from the walls. Is that a ducted fan or a turbine jet?

Both the T-45 Goshawk and the F18 Blue Angels are nitro powered prop planes.
I don't think I'll ever graduate to Turbine powered planes, it's just too expensive and too restrictive.
At our flying club the fire danger in the summer makes flying jets impossible and the runway is almost too short to get a decent sized ducted fan off the ground.

I've got lots of planes, 16 at last count.
Between the Z and RC planes I can't afford any more hobbies.

Ya I had one go in and make a smoking hole in the ground due to a receiver failure. JR gladly replaced my receiver but that didn't help me with the rest of the investment.

ZR-1's and Mopar musclecars - my favorites. My first car was a B-5 Blue '70 Challenger R/T 440 Magnum. I'd give anything to have that car back...last I heard it was in Florida. You have an awesome pair!!!

We all have had those cars when young. Mine was a '70 Challenger R/T 383 4 speed. Took it over to Germany in '71 and drove it there for 5 years, what a blast. Sold it over there and ordered a '77 Trans Am T/A 4 speed. Was I ever sorry I got rid of the Challenger.

I had a 72 R/T w/ 340, then a 73 w/340, traded it for 79 T/A. I was sorry that I did that too... 83 I got a 71 convertible w/ 383 mag and 4 speed. I gt rid of the car due to rust but looking back, could have brought it back easily.

High School car was a 1964 Oldsmobile 442 for me (I beat the crap out of that car, it ranlike a striped *** ape). Also on the list a 72 Chevelle, 64 El Camino, 72 El Camino, 69 El Camino SS396 and a 70 Camaro.
I'm a GM guy, can you tell.
