Got my car back!!!

I got my car back last Saturday after 6 weeks of "drying out".
Brian and Taylor re-shot driver side "c" pillar (burnt through while buffing last time), re-shot gas door (paint run in recessed area) and re-shot the front bumper (burn-through and someone drove into it in the parking garage 2 days after I got the car). They also re-cut and polished the whole car. This truly brought out the deep, shiny black.
This car never looked soooo gooood!
I must say out loud that Brian and Taylor Dill are outstanding guys delivering what they promised and then some. Non of that "I got paid and don't want to see the car again" b.s.
Also, their price was truly reasonable.

Ha, ha... The photo was taken at a strip mall in McLean, VA. I am not much of a potato chip eater but I use to munch on "Smith" potato crisps (that's what English calls them) when I was a kid.

As you know I have this affinity for black cars. Problem is that black accentuates any imperfection. It takes a lot to make a black car look good - block sanding, good spray, etc...
I must say, these guys pulled it off. This was an acid test.
Only problem is, I am afraid, Darrin may have been right about my Z turning into a trailer queen although I don't own a trailer.
Truth is I am almost petrified to park and walk away...
Nonetheless, I haven't felt this good in a long time.:cheers:

Car looks fabulous, I sure hope that when I get mine back it looks as good. I was out at a cruise night last saturday night and went into the restaurant for a bite and when I came out to get into the car someone keyed it, every panel. I just got the car back on the road last week original paint metalic steel blue. We have a great high end paint shop in town and they told me that they will be able to match the colour no problem it will be a full repaint so hopefully it will turn out like your car did. The guy who painted your car did a fantastic job well done.

haber rj, sorry to hear about your car. It surprises me to hear a story like that happening in Canada. I guess I thought things were different up that way. I hope it's perfect when you get it back.

Thank you for the kind words and yes we up in the great white north have our problems with vandles also. I have heard of this happening to other owners but in all my years I have never experience this before. All I can say is that I hope these guys are as good as the ones who did your car. Anyway on a happier note had the car down at Aaron Scott's at SGC and had the top end porting done stainless steel headers bullit cats B&B exhaust and had the engine repainted. The car looked ausome and ran like a scared rabbit, oh well these things are sent to try us so my father tells me I just wish that they wouldn't try so hard.http://www.zr1.net/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

It hurts just thinking about it! I can even understand someone breaking in the car to steal something. As wrong as it may be there is a reason for it - greed, need for money, etc...
What I cannot forgive is an act of pure vandalism. Senseless act purely to piss off a total stranger.
I am thinking a dobermann pincher (trained to go for the jugular) or motion detected claymore (collateral damage is an issue).
I have a buddy who lives in Aurora and has a business in Mississauga. I actually found a black 2002 Corvette for him last year and had it shipped to Canada (with auto tranny). Being a newbie to muscle car world, I thought C5 auto would be an easy way to intro him. Perhaps we can all hook up when I go to see him later this summer. I hope your car turns out better than ever.

Well isn't this a small world, I live and work in Mississauga, I spoke with the body shop and they figure that I should have the car back the first week of September. Well you take care of that nice looking car that you have and may be we will get together when you come up.
