Subject: Boxes

Well Jim we received 17 boxes today, what a surprise!!!! Usually it takes longer but you caught the mail guy just in time it looks like. I was in a meeting and the guys came running over and said, "SFC E, you got a crap load of boxes, must be from the CORVETTE guy".....i laughed out loud. It was like watching little kids on Christmas day opening gifts.

Well I must say you put a lot of work into packing them up and you used all space available. Great packing job!!! I can not tell you enough how much we appreciate the snacks, packages and effort you put into shopping, and mailing this to us. I know how much work it is to do all of that and I appreciate it.

I want to thank all the people that helped out with this in order to make our day's a little better with some good ol' USA food!! From everyone who helped clean, cook, clean up at the BBQ, to the ZR-1 family who drove to BG for the event and bought stuff at the auction that helped to buy us all these goodies, and to you Jim who purchased these items and then mailed them to us. The guys really loved all the stuff and were digging in as soon as they could.

It is hard for me to describe how much this all means to us, basically strangers spent there hard earn money to support us over here, and it is hard to describe what we are feeling, the only thing we can say is, THANK YOU!!!!

Jim,
I know evertime I was over seas in Iraq 2003,2004,2005,2008. Mail was always of the upmost priority.

Flying around doint some of the daily flights in my choppers I have delivered tons of mail and as I know I always loved getting a box or a letter its even better to have made that delivery possible!

I know I always wanted good toiletries becasue you never know where you might need a good wipe at!

We've been told the guys in the outposts are not eating well, eating the same thing every three days, etc. They're losing weight so we have been sending a lot of canned meat, less any pork products. (restriction). I also just found out they are losing their free INternet. NOw they'll have only a few computers and will have to pay fo the time etc. I CALL BS. Sounds like another great idea by our government...

I can't say I ever had free internet, becasue when its on a government computer they want you to use it for official business only.

They block websites especially forums and ebay.

They also turn it off when they want any time something happend they didn't want reported back right away by us then it was turned off, it sucks but I ended up on some bases that had internet cafes but I really ended up not really getting on the net to often other than emails.
When I got to Al Asad in they had satilite internet you could pay for and it wasnt cheap and it was horrible!

as far as not sending pork products I just don't get that **** I had pork all the time I hate that our leaders are so worried about conforming to their standards next thing is all the females will have one burkas!
