UPDATE

Well folks, most of you were involved with our 20th ZR-1 Anniversary party here in Bowling Green and many attended our BBQ and presentation on Thursday evening. We had a tremendous turnout and raised some funds for our troops over in Afghan Land.

Thanks to all of you who helped us build a little "war chest" for the 1st Platoon, 101st AIrborn Air Assault Division, US Army currently stationed in Afghanistan. If you hear the news you've heard of several casualties in recent days, in fact, some of the deadliest fighting in a long time. Our 20th ZR-1 Anniversary Guest of Honor, Sergeant First Class Eric Egelstad, 1st Platoon Sergeant, can't be specific but he says our troops are kicking some BIG TIME BUTT!!!

I got up early today and went shopping. I have found that the US Postal Service has a Flat Rate box available for APO (military postal addresses). It costs $13 a box and the boxes are 12x12x5 so its expensive but thanks to all of you, our first shipment is today and we're filling 20 boxes. Today we're shipping food and high calorie, high energy items. A Playstation is coming, with plenty of games (is Tiger Woods now considered porn???), and we'll get around to the cigarettes and snuff. In the meantime, we got them plenty of sunflower seeds and bubble gum. :-). Yes, there's a football (US NFL Style) and a few other treats.

Instead of any packing materials, bubble wrap etc, we're using food! I really went nuts on the candy for give outs. Our troops need all the friends they can muster and a piece of candy here and there might give them a warning at just the right time from one of the local kids.

I'll post some pics on our website when I get a minute. Thanks again gang.

Like I said, we Air Force guys are always having to bail out the Army....

JVD,

Yes thanks for the outstanding work and support your showing my family, my Soldiers and myself. I can not tell you how important emails, packages and general support mean to us over here. It is the small things that matter to us when most of the time your so tired and scared that you can not sleep, so any news/emails or packages takes us away from this place for a little while.

I would like to thank others who have supported us by donations sent to Jim, the BBQ Auction and emails to me.

The support we receive from total strangers is amazing, and very much appreciated.

Thanks to all of you again, hope to see you next year.

I do need to add one thing:

JVD is a great guy, but do not let him fool you with this Air Force vs. Army thing....we all know the real deal. I'm trying to rememeber the last GOOD Air Force movie put out....even the famous Top Gun is about the Navy..HMMMM........LOL

Just kidding, love the Air Force!!!

JVD,

I'm trying to rememeber the last GOOD Air Force movie put out....even the famous Top Gun is about the Navy..HMMMM........LOL

The funny thing about Top Gun, which happens to be my most favorite movie of all time. I saw it 14 times while it was in the theaters, stood in line and bought the first DVD at my Best Buy, and then the 10th anniverssary special edition, then the dam Blu-Ray...anyway. The producers of Top Gun actually went to the Air Force first and asked them to host the movie and they declined.

The last GOOD Air Force movie? Now Eric, we all know that one. It starred Harrison Ford and was called "AIr Force One".

Sleep tight. Your Air Force is up there at 45,000 feet just waiting to drop good riddins on "them" at your beckon call. BTW, can you imagine if them AF boys did the snuff thing instead of sunflower seeds???

:-)
