Good Deal Rich,

What kind are you going with, 2 post or 4 post storage/stacker?

I put mine up in my garage in Alexandria about 2 years ago (2 post) and it took me a day and a half (working alone). Hardest part was getting the uprights to stand up (McGiver)...

Do you need a Hammer drill for the lags that need to be shot into the floor to anchor? If you do, let me know, I have one handy.

If you could use a extra hand from someone who's been there, let me know,

Jeff Gibson

Hey thanks Jeff,
Going with the Bendpak 4 post HD-9ST. I didn't plan on anchoring it but I have a hammer drill if I decide to. I have 4 or 5 WAZOO guys coming, Phil and Jim both have Bendpak lifts so I think I'm covered. If your not doing anything, come on by and hang out. Let me know, I'll shoot you my address.

Ooops...Rich beat me to it

Jeff,
Rich got a Bend Pac 4 post lift... it is self standing (no drilling of holes required)... if you are around come join us. Rich and Phil installed my Direct Lift Pro8 (four post) last summer and was not too bad of an install...other than summer humidity and moving around the runners (about 350 lbs each)

Well the lift is in the driveway :dancing The freight company beat it up pretty good getting it here, but the damage is cosmetic.

Due to the chance of rain on Sunday, I'll be looking at a car on Saturday instead. I'd really like to see how they go together, though. If I get back early enough, I will swing by!

No problem Bob, I'll try to take photo's but may get busy wrenching and cooking for my "Skilled Labor".

450+ miles round trip, ugh. Didn't make it back home until about 5pm, at which point the heavens opened up like mad and our power went out.

I assume you got the lift finished by then and are excited to use it! Let's see some pictures!

Well...we (Jim, Rich, Phil & I) started at 10 am... Rich had already placed the columns so the four of us muscled the runways into place (yea I could tell you we did it with just pure muscle  but that would be a lie...engine hoist came in handy). Dave and Yun arrived and pitched in.. cabling etc. Rich's wife made us a great cookout meal (Dave burned the burgers ;)) and a wow home cook baked bean dish and potato salad. Yun and I left a little earlier, but the rest of the crew were in the final stages prior to firing it up (I assume).
I was a good WAZOO day!

Between Lyndi's BMWs, David's 525, your Mini and my 330, I was advocating a formation of "WABOO".
But something about german cars - I just don't like, nor enjoy, tearing into them...:icon_scra

I did get some pics. Rich was so well prepared that the assembly was easy. There was lots of help and plenty of supervision!

Lifting the runway that has the hydraulic cylinder it (350 lbs). The engine hoist worked very well for this task:

We assembled the big pieces with the lift 3' raised so it was easy to get under to bolt and run cables and hoses:

Here is Phil providing a slight hammer calibration to repair some damage caused by the shippers:

The proud owner checks out the lift on first raise:

Nice set up, I think the Direct Lift and Bendpack seem to be exactly the same......Congrats. How long did it take the whole crew? Took me about 10hrs by myself.

Rich, you are very welcome. It was fun. Thank you for the great hospitality that you and Nina showed us. It was nice to meet some of your friends and neighbors. Nice people.

Before I left, we should have slipped my yellow Z under your red one "just to see how it looked".

That is NICE

Just so I am not confused....can you park a Z under the other Z which is on the lift?
I assume you can "lift" higher but have stops on the lift to prevent lifting your Z through the ceiling?

Yeah, I think I can get another one under, haven't tried it yet. Next gathering, I'll let you know.
Rich
