The drivers seat on my car needs a little TLC (bolster repair, lumbar repair, etc), shows some minor wear. meanwhile - the Passenger seat is perfect.
Is there any reason that I can't just swap the seats over?
Then I'd be able to take out the pass seat when my time allows for repair (with no time pressure to complete the task) as I would still be able to drive the car.

I have done it to 94 seats. s for the 90, although I have never done it, probably very similar.
I think I had to switch seat back from the seat shell at the pivot hinge. Also, your seat lumber adjusters would be on the outboard after the switch.

Nope - the Lumbar would not change relative position with a seat switch on a 90.
It also doesn't appear that the seat backs would need to change over either.
I may just try it this weekend (time permitting - gotta do the headlights first) - if I do, will report how it went.

They are identical
you can do it with the seat tracks or without.
Heres how!
First remove the targa top
look at the front of the bottom black plastic on the seat, there is a metal hook sitting on two tabs, using a screwdriver or something else flat pull it out and down this is all that holds the lower seat cushion in the seat bottom.
Once you get that out pull it out and up then of the way, gently! you still have hoses and wires conected to it. You now have access to the four bolts that hold the seat to the seat track.
Or you can move the seat track back and forth if it works and gain access to the four nuts that secure it to the floor.
either way you will have to disconect the electrical conection that is under the seat cushion red and black wire I think and then there is a seperate conection for the seat track.

piece of cake I did it on my 90.once you get the seats out you have to rotate the seat bottom on the seat track to go left to right side of car and right to left.you will see the extra holes at three bolts.good luck.

Thanks alot Johnny and 72ZR1.
I am definitely going to make the switch. Suprised more people haven't done this as routine to "even out the wear"

Well I think some people just don't like to take things apart.
One thing you can do if you have an *** like I do is put your hand on the bolster and slide you butt in like that so you don't rub it raw!

Another solution is to bye a spare set of seats. I grabbed some back when the C5 came out since many were converting to C5 style seats.
My plan is to convert the bolsters on the spare seats to real leather (red).
