I don't often wind my car up too tight but when I do take it up to the 7,000 rpm the brake light comes on . WTF, is this normal, is this part of the rev limiter? If not, any suggestions welcomed.

Check the fluid level in your master cylinder -- the fluid level may be shifting, causing the light to come on. It seems the C4 is particularly sensitive to levels being just slightly low.

I can agree with the fluid level. When I was buying my ZR-1 I had test drove the car once and had made an offer with a certified check (my smallest offer) and some cash. I wanted to drive the car one more time and choose a hilly tight turned road and guess what happened?...Bingo.... the brake light comes on, the owner had a close friend as a Chevy dealer in town so we headed there. Lucky for me he didn't have time to have it checked out(was late in the day and a Friday:-D) but he did give some idea as to what he thought could be the problem with anything from a wheel sensor to the ABS unit behind the drivers seat. I pulled my cash from the offer and hauled it home (had all ready planned on hauling it home in my enclosed trailer). Got home...checked the fluid in the master cyclinder...topped it off and never seen the light since...that was 4 years ago this month!
So if you're looking to buy a C4 you might want to check the fluid levels....might save you some money!
My cash offer......$2000.

Hey guys thanks for the insight, brake fluid, huh? Checked and the level seems low, worth a try! I'll have to check with the previous owner, I think he may have changed to synthetic fluid but not sure.

Yesterday while washing my car, as I was washing the inner wheel wells my sponge hit the brake line where it meets the hose and attaches to the frame. I hear this click-click noise, this is the noise I've been hearing for two years and I found it while washing my car! :dancing

Hopefully the brake fluid solves my problem. CJ
