Anyone running these tires on the street ? They are DOT rated but are they a little slippery in rain ?

:hello: Excellent dry traction. And yes they are a little slippery in the damp/wet. Not half as bad as MT's or M&H street's in the wet. They wear pretty good also.

I just put them on but it is still too cold here to really try them.

I bought Nitto NT05's and they are excellent!

Awesome dry weather traction!

In the wet, not sure but from reviews its better then most drag radials although you need to exercise caution.

Tire is not as wide as say a GY DS-3.

I am very pleased, if I had to do over, I'd go 335.

i have these on my ZR-1 and another performance car. They are excellent tires!

However one downside. Since the ZR-1 sits for long periods of time (couple of weeks) the tires will flat spot until they warm up. Thats the ONLY downside to them. After 10 mins of driving they are back to perfection in my opinion.

Hello.

I have a 315 rear & 275 front set of Nitto's in my "racing" wheels set and they are excellent!!!!

But you have first to give them some time to heat, and after that they stick as glue. They maintain the car on the track even in the most agressive driving.

Tested driving in the Formula 1 circuit in Barcelona several times and they outperform all the other tires I have used before...GY, BFG, KUMHO, etc...

If you drive in rain you have to be very sweet....those tires don't like water very much...so little thread to evacuate in wet conditions....better not to use them in rain...[-X

Ramon.

just got a set of the nto5 nittos for when i go to the strip . we tried them out at irwindale and i cant believe how much better they hook compared to the mt drag radials . 60 fts went from 1.75 to 1.48 only bad part was snapping a stub axle on the 3rd run . these things are glue in a tire:mrgreen:

Hey, Jon, how are the nto5's in rain ??? According to the sales stuff, they are supposed to be OK but I have never talked to anyone who has them.

I've driven mine in the rain and I noticed no issues. I had them on smooth asphalt and grooved concrete. Of course the concrete is better, but they gripped better than my old GSCs in the rain, I know that for sure. They have large rain channels. But once they wear down it could be more of a problem. Just take it easy in the wet.

The hook hard in the dry.

i only use mine at the strip . i have the goodyear dg3s for street driving .which i love in any weather . escept the strip . these new nittos put the mt street drag radial to shame . in fact i have 2 315 x 35x17 mts that have about 1/2 the life left in thwm that i would sell if someone wants them
