All I can say is, I can't wait to turn wrenches on my ZR1 when I get it!
I can't wait to do something different. This ZR1 niche is just a great bunch of guys who enjoy the cars for what they were designed for. To be driven!
The last five Corvettes that I've restored have been 53's, and I've got another two months before the sixth one is complete.
Today, I spent 13 hrs installing a new top on one car. I hope to have the car finally completed by the end of the week.

That looks great for the time you have in it. No hurry up and get a ZR-1 in there to work on.
Is that dust on the workout machine in the back of the garage in the 2nd picture??:sign10:

Nope. That's custom muscle powder. I bought it off of ebay, so it just has to be the real thing.:sign10:

I bet Brett could have done 4 C3 tops in that time. They be easy compared to a 53. Just putting one up an down takes me 15 minutes! Careful of those flippers!

No doubt they are all difficult. I would not want to do one outside of my shop. Have done my 61 and my 63 and I fixed my 53 top and tried to do my 54 but gave up. It took me forever, but I am clueless! The 53, 54, 55s are a different animal. They changed the 53 designs several times and each has it's own problems. (plus the pressure of doing a +$100K cars top only adds to it)

I'm getting better at it. I've done five now. They all take alot of time and patience. If you get in a hurry, you're doomed. It took almost 4 hrs to put the top frame together, mount it on the car and then get all of the measurements correct. This is the hard part. If the geometry is not correct to start with, you'll ruin a $2000 top and have to start all over.
