On Saturday, March 27th, in Westminster, Maryland, we will be disassembling an LT5.
All ZR-1 enthusiasts are invited to attend.
Here are the details:
When: Saturday, 27 March 2010 starting at 9:00 AM.
Where: Jim's garage in Westminster, Maryland. eMail or PM me for the street address or directions.
What: Phil (JagDPanzer) bought a spare LT5 that he plans to build to a big cube motor. The first step is to take the motor apart and he has offered to do that at my garage so everyone can join in the excitement.
Who: The event open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend this official WAZOO (Washington Area ZR-1 Owner's Organization) WMD (Westminster Maintenance Day).
Refreshments: We will chip in and order pizzas as appropriate. Sodas and adult beverages  will be provided.
Event T-Shirt: I designed an event T-shirt that will be available to anyone who RSVP's soon. All the T-shirts will be white. Here is the graphic:

The T-Shirt cost is $20.00 (payable at the event) which includes a contribution to the days refreshments. Please RSVP with the size you want soon so I can get the shirts printed.

SPECIAL BONUS OFFER! Free Nights Stay in Westminster!
I have a coupon for a one-night stay at the beautiful Best Western of Westminster.
I won this coupon in a raffle at a charity event.
I will give this coupon to someone attending the LT5 Teardown WMD.
The first person (or couple looking for a romantic LT5 get-away) to contact me can use this coupon to stay free in Westminster either Friday night before the event OR Saturday night after the day's excitement.*
I hope this will encourage someone from out of the WAZOO area to come and join us.
Jim
* Subject to room availability at the Westminster Best Western

Maybe you could break the video up in segments and post them on YouTube.

If anyone attending the disassembly get together knows how to do the cam timing procedure...I think it would be helpful to those of us on the forum that don't. I for one, would like to see it done through a video. It could be posted on YouTube if the video is exceptionally long, or there might be a forum member that could host the video for viewing.
Thanks,

Get a copy of the GM training video, its covered there. Timing with the factory process is not that complex.

Thanks,
We are only taking the engine apart at this gathering.
I agree with Lee, the maintenance video illustrates the timing procedure pretty well.
