It's official...

My current employer Lockheed Martin offered me a Test Pilot position back in the good old US of A... And yes I took it...

I'll be transferring from LM Aero in the UAE to the LM Skunk Works based in Palmdale CA. I report in Mid March and will be working out of Vegas. Should be interesting work...

Expect some more ZR1 events in Vegas!

Excellent news, Ron!
Palmdale is not too far from me.
Let me know if you need anything.
It will also probably be easier to work
on turbos now, right? :dancing

PS Are we talking Nellis events?

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME HOME
You must be very proud to be selected to be a part of the Skunk Works!! My late neighbor had a lot of dealings with Lockheed and the Skunkworks people starting in Christmas season of 1960 when he 1st met with Sid Brewer and Kelly Johnson to discuss a Mach 3 bomber based on A-12/yf-12 and for the next 7 1/2 years his life was the SR71 BlackBird. He was the 1st Air Force officer to fly (guy in back seat) in Blackbird even before signed off by Air Force.
You are a very special person to be part of that group. God Bless and thanks for your service to our country.
Go to My home page link in my signature and you'll see my tribute to my neighbor, long time friend and hero

Let's hope they're not bringing you back to fly that F-80 Starfighter in the picture! I was 4 years old when my dad was working on that plane for Lockheed - back in 53-4. Oh, maybe it is an initiation plane; one they get all the rookie test pilots to evaluate??

Just remember...keep the shiny side up! Don't get your name on one of the streets at Edward's AFB, bro (For those that might not know, Edwards AFB is named after a pilot named Edwards that died in a crash while flying the first (Northrop) flying wing - a turbo-prop forerunner of the B2 Stealth. All the streets on the base are memorials to pilots that gave their lives testing new aircraft.)

Thank you for your service!

Oh yeah! Lockheed missle and space is great. My dad started working for them in 1967 at the moffet field Sunnyvale ca. site as a sinior electronic engineer. Top secret clearance. the whole bit. and then layed him off after 27 years along with thousands of others to replace them with engineers for half the price and no experience from other counties. Real great company there.
