Has anybody used the Mid America Motorworks Lowering Kit, if so, any issues/comments?

I dont think its worth the hassle for 3/4 of an inch. How low do you want the car?

The amount of effort required to do the front sucks. The kit is fairly cheap, but the amount of labor time is pretty high. On the rear you get adjustment, but the front is pretty much one shot.

Yes, the front kit is cheap. And getting 2" longer Grade 8 bolts for the rear is reasonably easy & cheap.
Changing the rear bolts is easy. Doing the front ... I've done one and I won't do another, ever. :thumbsdo:

The only way I would do another front is if I had it all apart already if I had to do it again I wouldn't bother it is a pain in the a$$ just give up the weekend to do it thats all.

How come you don't want them?
I might be interested. I'm thinking of just lowering my rear some and screw the front although that might look funny. :dontknow:

They are too short.I need to find them.As far as just lowering the rear if you level out the car it would help the look.I might raise mine a touch only because if something is too low it doesnt look right. This car looks lower but all I did was went with a different tire, same size.

Well, I already have the kit, it was $37.95, reading these posts I think I'll have Precision Automotive do it in Hayward, he says its about 3 1/2 hrs for the front. Does it change the ride quality? Thx for the input.

Thx Jeff, Pat has worked on my car a few times, clutch and shocks, stand up guy, I really like him. Can you email me any pix of your car, do you have a before and after pic? Pat says that the fronts are a pain and they can lower the front too much. Did you find that? How much did it lower your car, front and rear?
My office is in Hayward, we should get together some time, over lunch maybe?

My car is too low for most but I like it.Ive got an adjustable front spring so I can change the ride height pretty easy.I work on my own cars but if I needed somebody to work on something Pat would be the one.http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a136/FLYTYM/IMG_0011.jpghttp://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a136/FLYTYM/DSCN0181.jpg

The front might be about 1 1/2 the rear maybe 2 1/2.........or more.If you get something too low it doesn't look right regardless of how it rides.I might raise the car a touch but for now its fine. Thanks Shane.

Shane, my ZR1 got tapped in the parking lot this morning, it kissed and deformed the "trim molding" passenger side rear corner and some crazing on the bumper, any local SFO Bay Area recommendations for light bodywork repair? Are those trim pieces available?
