Looks like my car is goin to be ready to head back to Jerzy in March :pray I need to start lookin for a reliable transport co. to handle the precious cargo. I know the major players but I'm looking for a little more current feedback. Any and all info is greatly appreciated. Car is in Addison, Ill. and needs to come home to the Jerzy Shor.
Man, its been a long time since I have driven her. I have a bad case of da Z Jones. Last time I drove a ZR1 Dave J. & I where catching a little air :jawdrop: in his 94 AB (pre Fiske) back in Sept 09.
Thanks, Rick

fwiw, I used FedEx to get mine from VA to NY. It was covered transport, but it wasn't cheap even thou it was back in 12/04....I can look up the exact $$ amount but like $700.00 sticks in my mind.
Sorry Rick, I just thought of this. If you wanna drive out to get the car hit me up. If we can do it on a week end I would drive you out if you think it's something you want to do?

Inter City, Fed Ex or Reliable
Just ask Marc his choices, he sees them coming and going
I used Reliable, just fine

My car has been transported quite abit over the years by:
Exotic Transport, Intercity lines, Fed Ex Passport.
Another one that is excellent that most people have not heard about is http://plycargroup.com.
The last time I moved my car it was Passport. I called them in the morning and I had my car that night. It was 5 hours away from my house. Unbelievable turn around time.

Ricky, no doubt you've already considered this but I flew into Chicago and drove mine home. I looked at transport services but after looking into it, driving was easy and a lot of fun.
I'm sure the cost of a one way ticket is not slowing you up but a Southwest flight from Washington to Chicago was dirt cheap if you buy it in advance. In Chicago, I took a cab from Midway airport to Marcss and picked up my car on a Friday evening. Stayed the night a Marriott Courtyard (less than 5 minutes from Marcs shop). Gased up and parked the car right at the Marriotts front door (to keep the FBI from stealing parts off it through the night). Was on the road at 4AM Saturday monring and out of Chicago before I passed two other cars on the road. After almost a year at Marcs, it was one of the best road trips I ever spent in the car. The trip was 11 hours for me but I would think it would be much less for you.
The only other thing that concerned me was weather. I watched weather right up to my flight to Chicago. Southwest would have let me change my flight had the weather not looked like it was going to cooperate. Great trip, I highly recommend it.
Enjoy.

Thanks to all, my 1st plan was to do a road trip and pick it up.(Jim,Dave, Tomtom) you guys are great! My only real issue was the weather. Let me contact all invovled and firm up a direction in which to proceed. Big Thanks to the Chicago Mob (I mean the FBI crew) for the open invitation hopefuly we can make something happen.

Yep One gets what they pay for, the brokers are hit and miss. I am using http://www.gt-ms.com/. 3 Company's could not move my car these guys own their own fleet of inclosed transports. Cost 2-300 more then the brokers with open carrier.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=172494149434804&set=pu.148514818499404&type=1&theater (Click Back to album)
