At the WAZOO Passadena GetToGether yesterday, Phil approached me with a great idea. As many of you know, Phil recently bought an LT5 long block engine.
He has suggested, and I agree, that it would be fun for the WAZOO to have a Get ToGether at a WMD to tear down the engine. :dancing
So we are working on setting a date for the big event. :occasion1
I am looking for suggestions from all interested WAZOO members and guests about ways to make this special event even more fun. Tell me some things that will add to the festivities.
I need a qualified volunteer to set up the equipment and record the disassembly on video. Also we will need an official WAZOO photographer to document the procedure.
How about a live video feed to the ZR-1 Net ZRegistry Website? Would that be possible?
Can anyone design an "I was there..." T-shirt quickly? I will get them printed if some one will do the design.
Stay Tuned!
Jim
Note: WMD = Westminster Maintenance Day

I can design something for the shirt.
http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~showpic~Z5Z5Z50000050f~Z5Z5Z5AAEEN~Z5 Z5Z51~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z5
Image like this can be cropped, perhaps in a circle, with "Deep inside LT5".
If that's to suggestive, "LT5 Tear Down - WAZOO 2010".
Anyone has a hifh quality graphic file or poster that can be scanned? I can always turn to a printer I send jobs to and get a break on scanning. A large image or image file is a must for high quality reproduction.
Chime in and let me know what is available.
Thanks.

Jim,
What a great idea!!! I was hoping Phil would be able to school us "Lesser Educated" on the finer art of LT5 motor work. I can volunteer my video camera and tripod to record the events. Live...feed, don't know about. The ZR-1 website won't even accept any kind of video formats. I am still looking for a place to post the plenum pull at Carlisle. The last video I wanted to post, I had to put up on YouTube.
How about rotating mechanics so everyone gets their hand dirty?

John,
We are working on a date... There has to be a pick up in NJ and delivery to the WMD site. Yes, WMD. Hopefully this will be done in the next few weeks!

Keith, Try a Detailing Get ToGether. That was one of the first events that Michael put on that really drew a big crowd and got us thinking as a group. I sent you an eMail.
For the graphics, I am working on making an parts diagram with the caption: "I was there for the LT5 Teardown" or: "WAZOO LT5 Teardown WMD"
Any ideas?

We are probably going to schedule the LT5 Teardown for a weekend in April. Phil is not in a hurry for the parts, and the weather will be better.
I have been working on a T-shirt design. What do you think?
