Just sold, almost new Blue ZR1 and very low milage 95 ZR-1 sold as a pair for $150,000. Earlier a very nice Boss 429 Mustang sold for a lot more than the 2 Z's combined. I think the buyer of the Z's got a steal and the Boss buyer is an idiot. What do you think?

You could do better out on the free market. 40 for 95 110 for 2010 and 10 for buyers premium 160 for the both not a deal in my opinion

Very true, My main point is the guy that bought the Boss 429 could have gotten a lot more car for less money with the Z's.

But maybe he didn't want to deal with perpetual vacume leaks on two cars, just wanted one without having to pull the plenum constantly. That could very well be worth peace of mind..

Dont know, Boss 429 one of ther few Fords I want to own. Shouldnt lose money on a Boss, kick *** valve covers. What Chevy did with the Zr-1 is close to what Ford did with the Boss. The Z got all the attention in there back and the Boss was reworked up front. One of each is the answer......

Do you think that if the guy wanted the Corvettes,he might of bought them?Considering only a handful of Boss 429s were ever built, the guy bought that car at market value.http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a136/FLYTYM/ChevyIII141.jpg

Um I love my ZR-1 but you can't compare a pair of chevys to a Ford mustand boss 429. It doesn't suprise me that it went for more money.

Alot of cars bring more cash that a Corvette especially when you think that the guy was probably wearing ford mustang clothing or a hat or whatever people like what they like.

And BTW was there anything special about this pair of ZR-1s like something silly like the same Vin number or something like that?

If so thats silly to pay more than they are worth to me anyway

That's a fact. Only made 499 Boss 429's,... I believe. Apples & Oranges...

Of all the cars I dreamed of owning someday, a Boss 429 is near the top. Nothing special about the pair of Z's, infact they were slightly used.

What bothered me was he spent twice as much money for half the car. A new ZR1 will kick a Boss 429's butt in every catagory except rarity. I'm pretty sure the 95 Z would beat the boss on the drag strip and road course, and it looks better to.

What I failed to realize at the time was, if you have $195,000 to pay for an old Mustang, you probebly already have a ZR1, and a Lola T70. Good for him, I'd like to see his garage one day.:worship:

Yeah Im not sure exactly why so many people sell there cars at the auctions but maybe it just brings the right buyers to the cars??

Maybe instead of searching the guy just feels more comfortable buying at BJ maybe its the excitment of it I don't know but you might get lucky and get on TV signing for your car so that might help as well :dontknow:

Does anybody know how many miles that 95 actually had? Pretty sure it wasn't mentioned during the auction .
