My son just let me know he will be able to change the rear gears as part of his automotive trade school classes so I'm gonna do the 4:10's.
Anybody have part numbers for the rear gear change parts requirements? Any recommendations on the best place to get them. I am assuming you would go to the Chrysler dealer and just order 4:10's for a Viper. Is that right?
Also, are the speedometer correction gears availble in the parts stores or is that an item to get from Marc.
Thanks in advance.

Mopar P5007043. Ratech has the small parts if you need. I can get the number for a kit if you want to go that route.

I would appreciate that a lot. Is the Ratech stuff available on line, or at auto part stores?
Where does the speedometer gear come from?
Thanks Brother.
And yes it will be nice having this work done. Gonna do the flywheel and clutch too.

Ratech 'Deluxe' Install kit-3012K.
Marc H. has the correction gears, 13/43. He may not be the cheapest, but is the easiest. Can get the Corr.gears from other sources (cheaper) but not the simplest thing...

Have these in my 92, not sure they help, pulling from 3rd gear makes my 90(which runs 12.8@112.68) feel like a slug, but the car struggles even more to get power to the ground from a dead stop, my top launch RPM is only about 1800, any more and it does a burnout through the 60ft.
I even met someone who ran slower with the 4:10s and did not see an improvement until they went with an even higher gear.

I'm happy as hell with mine. Car runs like never before. Ran against my buddy (craigs427) 95 AB Zee, we put the same gears in his too after he drove my 90, & I walk on him, same gears in both,...only other thing I've got done to mine is my porting & it can't be that...:dontknow: Nah, can't be .

Go eat some damn bacon!
Maybe you are confusing the metric vs standard 4.10s:mrgreen:

I was going to go with 4.10's until I was told that they are now made in China. Maybe someone with more inside knowledge can chime in. I settled with 3.91's.

Put mine & craigs427 in around June, pretty sure they were marked 'Spicer/Dana'...

The Mopar Viper 4.10 gears I recently set up for Rich were made in the US by Dana Spicer.
The Yukon gears I've seen looked to be of good quality and stamped made Korea. My company builds very large diesel engines for ship propulsion in Korea and these days we find the quality there to be as good as anywhere. In the machine shops we do business with you will typically find the best CNC machining satations available.
