This is actually a rather benign (cost and scope of work) project... but this is where my ZR now sits>>

Power key module being renovated and Bose head off to Doc Don for CD replacement/general renovation.
Must say that getting the Bose head out was a PIA (tedious), but a great suggestion I got from Doc Don was to place protective tape on any dash components surrounding the stereo head...those metal mounting 'wings' could easily do a number on the dash.
Now since I am at this point, asking if anyone knows of availability of a mint++ condition center console (part the contains the cup holder etc.)...when I got the ZR the console had a few minor mares that are not that noticeable except to anal me...tis a curse

Ive got a used one Im going to paint at some point,Ill trade you for what you have but dont know if what you have is worse than what I have.I know what its likes looking for perfect parts,I replaced the glove box liner because the owners manual left some scuffs in it.Heres a tip when you put everything back together. When I but my car back together there was a squeak in the 2 taps that slide into the bottom of the radio bezel.Pulled it back far enough to get dome Dielectric grease on the taps, squeak s gone.

Hi, Michael,
I know what you mean about being the only one who can see imperfections and hear undesirable noises.
If you can't find a new replacement, I would buy a used piece and try trim paint for these parts being sold by Mid America.
Used console plate should be easier to locate and worst comes to worse, you still have a decent one.

ZIP Products, Corvette America and Eckler's all sell new ones with prices ranging from $125 to $149.
I purchased a new one recently for my '91, but can't remember which of these three I got it from. It was a nice piece, though.
