Question for those who have built LT5s. I am finally getting to the point of reassembly. Received my new liner/pistons/rods/rings, etc. and short of 7 of the oil rings being broken upon arrival, I need to get the rotating assy balanced since I'm using my crank, etc. as well as find replacement oil rings.

In the meanwhile I removed the old liners and cleaning up the block now so I am looking to purchase all the sealants I will need. I might have a hard time finding some of it locally so trying to see how much I need to buy of the various Loctite or Permabond products since it will be internet orders and I see various sizes.

Loctite 565

Permabond A136 or Loctite 518 (I used Hondabond HT on the cam covers in the past and it works really well so I thought about using it again. Hondabond is silicone based though, so I think I will use Loctite 518 this time)

Loctite 262 (do I really want to use this in all the places the manual calls for? A few places seems questionable for a high strength threadlocker like 262 (red).

Loctite 620 (the manual calls for it on exh manifold stud and crankshaft plug)

Looking for some recommendations based on experience.

Thanks for your recommendations and input in advance.

Use what is called for and when. Make sure you do it right.

Thanks Jeff, could you give me an idea of what size 565 to buy? With the bead that goes around each liner and the other places needed in assy, not sure what size to order?

Not sure on the amount of 565 since I only replaced one liner, but I used a 50ml bottle with a fair amount left over. To guess, two bottles might get the job done or three for sure. 262 I ended up needing two 10ml. I'm sure they might sell it in a bigger bottle though.

Okay, thank you very much. Exactly what I was looking for!!! :handshak:
