What is an LT5 worth ??

As payment on a debt, a guy wants to give me an complete LT5 motor. I really don't know what the value of the motor is....can any of you help me out ? It seems to be all there. Thanks in advance JPP


The motor appears to be a 1990. Vin # is 10ZSHX007030017. I was told there is about 30K on it. Complete with intake, injectors, ECM, exhaust manifolds and cats, also has power steering pump. I'm told it is all stock.
I live in Washington State about 30 miles north of Portland Oregon. I will be grateful for any help you can give.

Need more details and pictures.

If it is "new" or in good condition, you could get a quick sell. If your friend owes you alot, might not be a good idea.

Get details and the Vinn on the motor.

Well I have been trying to sell a 90 LT5 for the last year without sucsess
It was close a couple of times but the deals fell through and ebay isnt a good place to sell them.

but value depends on how much of the engine is there and what version it is 375hp or 405 hp.

get some pictures of what he wants to give you.

In your case the question should be what will a LT5 sell for quickly in today's market. IMHO most guys in your position would not want to have to hang on to it very long before seeing the cash.
