Probably none of you folks even know me, but some might remember me as the guy who celebrated his 75th birthday strapped in the seat as navigator in Bob Wood's Z06 doing the Aug 2008, Pony 130 open road race. That's the one when Ted Ted Zaleski started exactly one minute behind us in his '90 ZR-1 & about 40 miles down the road passed us doing ~180 mph. He beat us by .338 second at the end of the 130 miles in the 155 mph average mph speed class.
I'm now another year older but still have things in my bucket to get out...I need to go to the 20th anniversary gathering in May but my wife's health prevents her going with me. I really dont want to make that drive alone.
Please, if any of you have an empty seat and could accomodate some meat in that seat I promise to keep my mouth shut and be more than willing to help pay the costs of that adventure, or take one of my ZR-1s and we'll make to BG with your help.
Thanks, Bill Strowbridge,

PS: wife says no young ladies can be considered for my offer.

Bill, I will have room on the way down, but I will be spending another week in the south. There are a couple of guys who are driving, I am sure you can catch a ride.

Thanks very much Jeff, I'll see if anyone comes up with an opening for a round trip or I'll go with you and fly home.:) At least I now know I'm really going to be there!

Bill,

Amy chance you'd fly into Chicago and then leave from
there?

Yes, and the more we've talked, about it the better I like your Chicago offer. I get to spend time with my sister & husband in Cary (Trout Valley) and also see a lot of old and meet many new friends in person. Your draft plan puts us in BG Thursday with plenty of time to go to Jim Van Dorn's BBQ Thursday night, if he decides to do it again. Maybe if I suck up to him and help him cook that night he'll let me to use his Weekndr while I'm in BG :sleepy1:. ..well I can dream can't I?
Please keep me posted about how the Illinois group plans develop and I'll try to to ride with you both ways.
What a nice way to start the New Year with all the hopes of doing this trip.
Thanks again to all for your responses.
Bill
