Thanks everyone for the comments.. the wheels are from Ron H. the shelby 1 series. I sold it to a friend then bought it back ...due to fitment issue on his ws6. I had the shop paint the center black. The hood have been modified with louvers from Raceace.com, it is functional. The car gets alot of attentions every time i take it out. I'm gonna spend some time removing some of the over spray and put a new front lower valance today. I will try to get some more pictures..but my digital camera is out of commission. The photo were taken with my camera phone ...not very good quality.
Thanks again everyone

Didn't think I would care for a stripe on the car, but this car and the GS scheme look great. Nice car!

:jawdrop: Nice Christmas present!....no, check that, really, really, really NICE Christmas present! =D>
I always liked the idea of a stripe....guess I've spent too much time in the 60's & 70's! You know those Z28's, 442's, GS's, shelby 'stangs, GTX's. I'd love a silver stripe on my black Z.
Anyway, I think that car is one cool looking ZR-1! I hope you enjoy your Christmas present for a really long time to come!

Yes you are right the car was black before. After getting the car from my brother inlaw few years ago i noticed that the paint was old and some of the clear was fading on the driver side so now a few years later its finally done.
Scott..yea Santa was good to me..but i had to pay for it hehe.

Yes i did see this car before ..it is georgeous bad. I have to admit after seeing this car a year back. It kind of gave me an idea of what paint color to go with. I decide to go with an 07 z06 atomic orange with a hint of perl in it. I love the Callaway kit on this car too..drool drool..

Cheers,
Ron,
Those brakes are from 07 z06 with 14 inch rotors. The calipers had to be modified to fit inside the Shelby wheels.

I would like to see the underside of the hood as well :hello:
I will try to get a shot of the underside when i get a chance..just to let know ahead. Basically the hood was cut the size of 9x14 inc on each side then drilled and match all the hole on the louvers holding together with rivets. I was going to use button heads screws, but Raceace.com supplied the necessary rivets.
Z51Jeff..you're right we have to get together someday. I know that there are quite a few Z's in our area. Maybe someday we can get out from our busy schedule meet up and talk about this great car that we have. I had a chance to see your car in the mag...I have to say you have one beautifull Z.

How did you determine where to mount the louvers?
I really like those

Must be the perl you added that makes it look more orange than mine.

Well you have to be precise. Determine where you want the louvers. Put the louvers on the hood and hold it down with masking tapes. From then on know the exact measurement on the louvers and cut the center out. Drill out and follow all the holes on the louvers and then rivets them on. That is it. I hope i was clear on that ...sorry i tried to explain my best.

Thanks, I guess I meant more as to the location you chose on the hood to put them
Also when you get a chance I would love to see the bottom side of the hood to see what it looks like with them mounted

Dennis, I absolutely LOVE that car! Watching the build had me in sooo much suspense!
I also happen to like the GS black stripe on the red! Those wheels and brakes are flat BAD ***!!!! The louvers leave me a little subdued, maybe it's the rivets around the outside.
Still, a Kick *** ride there!!! :-D:worship:
