I saw someone post this link on, ehh, well on that forum which apparently shall not be named...

Anyway, here's the CL listing:
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/ctd/1505963744.html

Tons of pictures, though the album is set up so you can't browse through them...

Anyway, anyone know the story? In the pictures the car looks great. And the mods and mileage and price, geez... It has me wondering what kind of a deal I could work out to trade my car for it!

Guy who owns it currently is on CF. I forget his Username, but he also has Clints old Callaway Bodied ZR-1.. if I recall right

Prior owner was George Crouse (who owns Black Widow # 2)

I will see if I can get him in here

The price seems way to low for a 368 with low miles...never mind the GS paint job.

is this the one that smacked the wall at BG a few years ago?

Yep. I don't know if this is/was his but it was also for sale at our local town's Chevy store (Riverside in Rome GA). Guess this current place got it.

He also has a monster SGC 415! Plus the purple Callaway aerobody car. Plus a 396 low mile GS. Goes by Skunker on other place.

Looks like a very nice Z, I've never seen a ZR-1 made to look like a GS. Color scheme on the LT5 is different too. If I had $19K laying around, I'd be all over that thing!

Well most Corvettes in Modified form don't go for a lot of coin.. this is modified and repainted, so it seems right from a dealers point of view

Demps,

Yeah I think Skunker got it from George

That one was a purple 95 - few years ago (!) was 1995, I think.

I did previously own the car Skunker has for sale. I always thought it was a very cool car and had a lot of great stuff done to it. I do know that after he bought it, he sent it to Aarons for a few upgrades.
Yes there was a purple 95 that hit the wall at the drags at BG, I think that was 1995 or 1996 as the car was pretty new at the time.
And a few years later (early 2000's?) a GS ZR1 clone also hit the wall. That car was a different one from the one I owned. That one, the guy who owned it had bought it the previous fall (white car) and painted it over the winter. It was beautiful. It had been from western Ohio, as I knew the car previously.
My old car, Skunkers car, came from Boston via SW's in Texas. Never any body damage that I could determine.
Two different cars.
I hope this helps anyone interested.
George

great to hear from you George! I knew there were two gs painted zr-1s and I wasn't sure which one had the accident in BG.

That car is local to me, and I am begging the wife to let me buy it. If I could get rid of our Trail Blazer, it would be in my garage.

Did we determine if this car had been wrecked??

Thanks Kevin. I am begging the wife, and she keeps saying no. The car is 30 miles from me, so if anybody is interested, I wouldn't mind taking her for a spin. :handshak:

The one that Kevin is referring to that smacked the wall at BG belonged to Steve from Kansas City. Polished LT5, GS paint scheme, 4.10's. He still has his. The damage was superficial & repaired easily.

This is a great car. I have personally driven it. I believe that Mark had some additional porting done to it when he got it. Mark takes care of all his cars, they are all top notch! Seems like a great bargan.

Well, if you didn't see the post on the "other forum", the car has a new home. It's only about 5 miles away from me and I can't wait to see it! I hope you enjoy the car Mike!!
