Thanks! Now I think you have something there:dancing; hmmmm....I bet pineapple would go good with turkey instead of cranberries. Seriously will have to try that one year. My father's friend has a smokehouse and gives him a smoked turkey every year and my mother is also making the standard turkey this year so heading over to the parents in a few hours.....I will mention the pineapple though. :occasion1

Let's see... First time I was in Honolulu was January 1970. Then, it was 1974, 1981, 1984 and the last stop over was 1986. I never spent time at the Pearl Harbor but mostly at the Alamoana (spelling is probably screwy) mall. Yes. I was traveling w/ mom in 1970. 80s trips were w/ my wife.
I love Hawaii!!!

Hey, sounds like you're due for another visit since over 20 years ago. You won't believe the difference now and I would be glad to meet if so. I have been to VA several times, but never to your area and mostly Fort Lee area. I will be going to the Pentagon the last week in Jan and I see not too far from your neck of the woods. I'm looking forward to my first visit to D.C. area.

Let me know before you come to DC. We have a few hardcore ZR-1ers around here. You must make time so we can all get together.
I will be working in Georgetown, you know, 15 minutes away.

Yes, I work out near Dulles Airport, but I do have to go to the Pentagon every now and again. Let us know when you will be here, maybe we can have a WAZOO gathering.

Rich,

Okay, thanks. I'm coming in through Reagan National and will be there 24-31 Jan. Not sure on the hotel yet, but I will have rental car and keep you folks posted. I heard I have to go back and forth to the Pentagon through Fort Belvoir at times to meet up with my counterparts there and we have to get on bus and train......sounds like a pain in the butt, but I'm looking forward to finally going to our nation's capital area and meeting up with fellow Z owners too.

Craig,Will do. I live about a mile from Ft Belvoir, I have a government customer at the base, my wife works there as well, sounds like you will be very close. Lost of us live within 45 minutes, so we should be able to get up a good group.

Rich,

Thanks for the offer and thoughts. I will get back with you folks when we get closer after the holidays and see if we can make it happen. Sounds great and I appreciate it. Great prelude to meeting some of you at the Gathering in 2010 too. I have all my reservations for that booked too.

Aloha!

That's great! I live in N.Va and will be working in Georgetown most likely. Keep us informed of your schedule and we will put together a gathering.

Craig, I will add my invitation to the list of DC area guys (WAZOO) with a standing invitation to meet up with us while you are here in the area. I will mark 24-31 Jan 2010 on the WAZOO calendar.

I retired from the Pentagon (Navy), but I haven't been back there since 9/11. Metro to the Pentagon is very easy.

Let us know when you have some free time in your schedule and we will set up a Get ToGether.

If there is no snow & salt on the ground by that time of the year I'll trot out the Z. 4 hrs is just about right for a nice Saturday drive, just enough steady state running to get all the systems happy!

That would be great! Perfect excuse to loosen her up, get all the juices to operating temp and seals lubricated.

When you guys get plans made to meed with Craig, please let me know.

Craig, I routinely have a team in and out of Kunia and I get out your way from time-to-time. I figured if I ever met you it would be when I was in Hawaii out if you're going to be in town and meet with the WAZOO team I'm certainly going to try and make it.

Tom,

That would be awesome. I was planning on doing the tourist thing on Sat (30th) so I might have only Sunday (24th) and will have to run it by all as soon as I get back to the office to look at my airline reservations. I don't remember what time I leave on the 31st (Sun). I'm not sure, but I imagine weeknight is difficult for the group, but will wait until I see my schedule next week. Thanks for your thoughts about this. :handshak:

Scott,

My office is near the Kunia tunnel entrance on Schofield so please let me know if you come out this way. I have met a few Z owners that came this way and missed few too due to conflicting schedules. That would be really cool and this is starting to turn into a mini gathering. This sure is a great family we have here.

Craig,

Small world; I'll definitely have to let you know when I'm heading out your way again and look you up. I'll also start working on trying to keep the schedule open a few days between Jan 24-31. You're right, great car, great people.

Scott,

Sounds great and please do let me know. I just hope my Z is running and finished when you might come this way. That is what makes a difference about the ZR-1s I think and even the other folks on other forums mention the difference about the group here.

It was definitely a Freudian slip. Honest!
However, gutter? Definitely not! It's a health male instinct - like a love for a sexy looking fast cars and inability to hold back when challenged behind the wheel or otherwise.
