I never hear it mentioned but, is there anything wrong with the Mobil 1 in 5 qt. containers for $23 from Wal-mart? Is it a different Mobil 1?

I doubt it. The only thing that I look for on the bottle is the rating letters and that it says "full synthetic". I used to buy mine at COSTCO by the six pack, 10w-30 "full syn" in silver bottles with a silver cap. I noticed at the parts stores they have some others in the line up with gold caps which I think are the "high mileage" synthetic oils.

I'll bet my hat and saddle you can't get a Mobil 1 filter for the LT5. So would you accept a fram(sic) instead?

Actually several years ago on a wim I bought enough original black AC filters to last me several years.

On their online catalog they show M1-207 (standard oil filter) and MO-289 (Extended Performance) for engine code "J".

Nope nothing at all, except here its $22

Just bought 3 jugs but this is a better deal if you are getting an expensive filter.

Nope, I substitute the Mobil 1 ZR-1 oil filter for a Mobil 1 Oil Filter that fits my LT1 or LS1 Corvettes. Then I buy jugs at walmart etc or just stock up on the filters for LT1 & LS1.

If I am not in need and only need ZR-1 oil filter then I swap it out with a Bosch.

For those of you using the black PF970C, they don't retain oil very good.
You can get the original better ones on ebay but they are like $20 a filter and they are PF970 blue. That is why I choose the Bosch.

Anything wrong with the blue AC Delco PF970C? The dealer charged me $12.16 last oil change (one week ago).

Sure enough! A while back the major stores, AutoZone, Advance Auto and others were selling their remaining stock cheap. Then they were gone from the shelves in my town. Has anyone bought one recently?
