need some rings, bearings, gasket kits, etc to rebuild my 1990 ZR-1. It lost oil pressure on start up, and started knocking. Also would consider complete drop in engine.

If though you prefer a bolt in motor, i think Phrogs has a used bottom end for sale.

I checked their site, seems like very high price for a rebuild kit. Is there any other sources out there ?
Check www.jerrysgaskets.com for all LT5 gaskets & seals.

It certainly is a high price, esp. when considering a 350 SBC would cost you maybe $500.00 or so.
Look up GM prices from when items were available and it's even more scary.
Piston rings $202.80 each piston x 8 = $1622.40
Main bearings set was $278.61
Not to mention all the gaskets and seals and such.
Call Haibeck, he gets bearings re-coated & can probably re-coat yours for a couple hundered dollars. Jerry has a full gasket set, runs about $800.00 i think. You'll also need the cam cover to cylinder head plugs, Jeff Flint has these @ about $22.00 each, youll need 8 of them, Piston rings are available from LT5-Parts.com for about $700.00. I think pete can do the rebuild for you at a rather low cost, he does lots of porting work and has a very fast car, so maybe he can get you a hook up and get you some more power while you're in there. Don't forget Phrogs, he has a short block he's wanting to sell, i think its from a 1990 as well. Parts are out there if you want to piece together and save some $$$$, just need to shop around.

Probably not for complete set of rebuild parts all in one place.
