I am looking to replace my B&M shifter with a Hurst on my 95. The B&M rattles too much for my liking, especially at higher RPM. Don't know if there is anything I can do to fix it so I want to replace it with the Hurst.
Does anyone have experence with this or any tips? I do not have the orginal shifter so I don't know if it is a direct swap or if I would need any additional parts that don't come with the Hurst.
thanks

Talk to Bill Boudreau "The ZF Doc" over at ZR51 Performance.

He's got everything you need, including the Hearst shifter.
I suspect that you may be experiencing something more than just a sloppy shifter.
Your driveline components may be out of alignment.
If the C-Beam isn't exactly where it should be, it can cause the shifter or the transmission to touch the underside of the car causing a very noticeable vibration. This vibration can express it self as a loud vibration in the car at high RPMs, or even cause the shifter to rattle.
Again, talk to Bill about it, he'll get you fixed up.

Here are some detailed pics and instruction that I used from Johnny (phrogs) on the other forum, just replace the ** with ************* to get to the link. I see this system won't even let me mention the other forum so corvette forum no space.
The best deal that I have found on the Hurst is from Chris Rinehart that invented the C4 ZF Hurst and had them make it. He sells it on the member items if you are a paying member and also has new stock and on Ebay right now. Email him if you are a member and he will give you a discount on the Ebay price.
If you search the internet he has a great article on why he made the Hurst versus and all the comparisons with other shifters available.
PM or post your email and I'll send you the .doc with the information if you can't find it.
